Тема: Стиль життя. Велика Британія.

Урок №83. Велика Британія. Святкування Хелловін.

Мета уроку:  Активізувати лексичний матеріал, удосконалювати навички говоріння, аудіювання та читання з метою отримання інформації. Збільшити обсяг знань з соціокультурної специфіки мови країни, що вивчають.

Обладнання: Відеопроектор, підручник Prime Time 2  видавництва Express Publishing, 2012.Відеоматеріали ( www.youtube.com).

Використана література: Prime Time 2 , Express Publish 2012.

Наlloween celebrations.

Objectives:

• to encourage students to memorize useful vocabulary;
• to develop speaking skills;
• to practice listening for specific information;
• to introduce one of the aspect of  British culture.

Equipment: textbook “ Prime Time 2 “ by Jenny Dooley – Virginia Evans, Express Publishing, 2012,  computer, projector, posters, videos.

PROCEDURE

1. INTRODUCTION

T: Good morning, children! How are you? I hope you’re well! Today we’re going to talk about a holiday which british people celebrate in October 30, it’s Hаlloween.

Tell me what do you know about it? Do we celebrate this holiday in our country?

MAIN PART

1. Whatch the video about the history of Helloween

T: First, you should watch a video about the history of Наlloween.(Учні дивляться відео Halloween History for kids, https://youtu.be/Exi0AtsvW0A)

       Т: Answer the questions, please!

• When did the people begin to celebrate this holiday?

P: (2,000 years ago)

• Where was this holiday celebrated, 2,000 years ago?

P: ( Ireland, UK, Northern France)

• Is it religious holiday?

P: ( No, it isn’t)

• Why did people put on the costumes of evil creatures?

P: (to scare off real evil creatures from themselves)

• How do people celebrate Hаlloween  nowеdays?

P: (It’s a fun holiday for children).

         II.The celebration of Halloween by British children.

         T: Ok. Now, let’s see how do children of Britain usually celebrate Hаlloween.(Учні дивляться відео This is Britain – Hallowеen, https://youtu.be/TSsPTSMWoJE)

III.Celebration of Halloween by pupils in the class.

        T: Do you like the video? Let’s try to celebrate Halloween together.

Now, it’s high time to light  up our Jack O’Lantern( учень, що виготував ліхтар з гарбуза запалює свічку і розміщує в середині ).

         Т: Let’s learn Hаlloween song( учитель роздає слова учням та вмикає відео із піснею It's Halloween - Halloween Song )

   Т: What evil creatures have you seen during singing the song?

   учні називають їх:

• Ghosts, skeleton, mummy, spider, monster, ghoul, vampire, rat, zombie and so on.

  T: Let’s continue our  lesson. Let’s play some Hаlloween games.

1. Game “Apples on strings”.

You should bite the apple without using your hands.

2. Game “Make a mummy”.

Two girls should make mummies from two boys by using toilet paper. The winner is who will do it quicker.

3. Game “ Witches’ skirts”.

We need two teams of four children. The winner is the team which does the task faster. (Діти по черзі одягають спідниці, ідуть до кінця класу, повертаються назад, віддають спідницю наступному гравцю). 

   T: Now where are our “ Trick or Treaters”?

     Діти стукають у двері класу і хором повторяють “ Trick or Treat”.

     Учитель пригощає їх цукерками.
