Мета: Активізувати вивчені ЛО в мовленні.

            Удосконалювати навички читання та перекладу.

            Розвивати навички усного мовлення, вчити правильно висловлювати свої  

            думки.

            Виховувати позитивне ставлення до природи, вчити берегти навколишнє

            середовище.

                                          Хід уроку.

І. Організаційна частина.

  1) Greeting. Привітання і організація класу.

  2) Warm up. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

    a) Video “Home sweet home”.

           - What do you see here? Yes, it’s our planet. And what is wrong with it? It is suffering from different kinds of pollution. Let’s review the kinds of pollution.

    b) Speaking.

           - Look at the pictures and name the kinds of pollution. (Slides 3 - 12)

     c) Video “Environmental pollution”

           - Watch and learn what we can do to help our environment.

II. Основна частина.

1. Speaking. Class survey. Group work.

• Now we’ll speak about what you personally do to save the environment. To help you we’ll do a group survey and then you will tell the results.

2. Reading. Text “Disappearing rainforests” (“Pacesetter” by D. Strange, D. Hall) p. 15

1. Pre-reading activity.

• First of all, look at some words that can be unknown for you from the text (Slide 14)

Reason, shade, insects, valuable, supply, contain, disappear, extinct.

2. Read and translate the text.
3. Post-reading activities.

• Ex. 5 p. 15 Match two parts of the sentences.
• Video “Rainforest deforestation and its effects”. Watch this video and learn some more information about rainforests and about what happens if we destroy them.

3. Writing. Revising vocabulary. Ex. 8 p. 67 (WB)

• Choose the correct word to complete each sentence.
