Тема уроку: «Екстремальні види спорту: весело чи страшно?»
Тип даного уроку: Урок розвитку комунікативних умінь і навичок (формування комунікативної компетенції).
Основна дидактична мета: консолідувати знання лексичного матеріалу з теми та розвивати вміння зорового сприймання та та сприймання на слух за темою «Екстремальні види спорту», удосконалювати вміння усної взаємодії до теми « Участь в екстремальних видах спорту»., розвивати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань, позитивне ставлення до екстремальних видів спорту дотримання правил безпеки а також особистісних рис впевненісті та сміливісті.Види діяльності побудовані на основі групової та парної роботи.
До уроку додається : PPP «Екстемальні види спорту.Екстремальні види спорту у Новій Зеландії», роздатковий матеріал для групової роботи щодо створення групового опитування, читання (текст для читання та завдання до нього), відео та завдання для роботи у групах

Theme: Extreme sports: fun or scary?
Practical Aims: to consolidate pupils’ knowledge of the lexical material;
to introduce and practise vocabulary to the topic:” Extreme sports”;
to practise skills of reading and listening of the text «Queenstown: extreme sports capital of the world»; to discuss taking part in extreme sports; to do a group survey”Extreme sports”;
Developing Aims: to develop critical reading and thinking, working in a team skills;
Educational Aims: to teach pupils being careful and keeping up to safety rules while doing sports as well as to create the spirit o confidence and courage in doing them.

Procedure
I WARMING-UP PART
1 Greeting
Good morning, students. Today, we are going to talk about funny and at the same time scary things
2 Magic bag Is it fun or scary?
Students take out some small toys like a lizard, spider, cockroach, shark etc from the bag and answer the question. Is it fun or scary?
3 Hot spot game “Are you scared of……?” One student sits at the front of the class at the chair, the rest of the students ask him or her questions starting with Are you scared of ?
4 Presenting the objectives of the lesson
At today’s lesson we will:

II MAIN PART
1 Checking home task. Vocabulary practice PPP
Guess the picture, tell about this sport Students watch PPP, they look at the pictures, name the kind of sport they see and try to give a definition of sport.
1 Surfing- the sport of standing on a board and moving across the top of waves in the sea
2 Caving-the sport of going into caves deep under the ground
3 Rock climbing the activity or sport of climbing up a mountain with or without popes
4 Mountain biking- the sport or activity of riding a special bike up and down hills in the countryside
5 Parachuting-the activity of jumping out a plane wearing a parachute so that they come down
6 Skiing-the sport or activity of moving across snow on long pieces (skis )connected to your boots
7 Water skiing- the sport of moving across a lake using skis with a boat pulling you

1 Bungee- jumping- a sport in which you jump off a high bridge or building tied to a long rope
2 Hang-gliding- the activity of flying using a very light piece of equipment without an engine
3 Paragliding- the sport of jumping from a hill and moving through the air under equipment that looks like a long parachute
4 Skydiving-the sport of jumping out of plane and then using a parachute to come down
5 Jet-boating-- the activity of going in a jet boat for fun and relaxation
6 White water rafting-the sport or activity of moving a rubber boat through water and round rocks in a river that is flowing very fast
7 Snowboarding- the sport of moving yourself across the snow and ice on a long wide board

New Zealand is a small country- south-east of Australia- with about 4 million inhabitants. There are two main islands: the South island with its high mountains and the North Island with its beautiful beaches and volcanoes. 14 percent of New Zealanders are Maori, but most people have British origins.Their ancestors came from Britain in the 19th and 20th centuries.

New Zealand is famous for its beautiful scenery and outdoor activities. It attracts lovers of nature and fans of dangerous sports. Many of them combine these interests when they visit Queenstown- the extreme sports capital of the world- on the South Island.
Paragraph 3
The first Europeans came to the area in the 1860s to farm and look for gold. Queenstown: was very quiet for 100 years. Slowly, it became an popular fishing and hiking centre. Today, people from around the world come to do extreme sports.How did this happen?
Paragraph 4
It started in 1988 with the world\s first bungee-jumping centre. This attracted people from around the world who were looking for fear without danger. Bungee-jumping IS great because it\s scary and safe! Today, there are lots more frightening activities in and around Queenstown. In summer, you can choose from bungee-jumping, hang-gliding, jet-boating, mountain hiking, paragliding, skydiving and white-water rafting. In the winter, thousands of people go skiing or snowboarding in the Remarkables, the mountains around Queenstown

But Queenstown is not only for deardevils.It’s a quiet town with a dry climate and the rtegion around it has lovely rivers, mountains and lakes. You can go walking, cycling, or just relax. It’s a beautiful place to visit.
