Урок побудований у форматі захопливого командного квесту, що включає серію інтерактивних станцій із завданнями на повторення лексики, граматики та логічне мислення. Для реалізації квесту використовуються онлайн-інструменти. Матеріал спрямований на розвиток мовних навичок, командної роботи та мотивації до вивчення англійської мови через гру.
Topic: “Discover the Secret Word!”
Level: 3rd grade Aim:
To revise vocabulary and simple grammar structures through a fun digital quest; to develop teamwork and communication skills; to motivate students to learn English actively.
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
● Revise numbers, school subjects, and vocabulary on sports, animals, food, and emotions
● Use basic sentence structure
● Cooperate in teams
● Complete interactive tasks using digital tools
Materials:
Internet-connected devices. Cards with clues (can be printed or digital). Access to digital platforms: Wordwall, LearningApps, Google Forms, Google Slides Liveworksheets, Canva.
Teamwork Format:
Students work in groups of 4–5. Each group receives one task at a time and completes it at different digital “stations.” After completing the task correctly, they receive the next clue. The final challenge leads to decoding the secret word.
Procedure
1. WARM-UP STATION: Team Check-in (English Teacher) Task: Count how many children are in your team.
Teacher: "Hello! How many children are there in your team? Count aloud together. Do you like Math? Let's visit the Math classroom!”
2. STATION 1: Math Riddle (Digital Math Task)
Task: Solve: Three plus six plus eleven minus ten =?
Tool: Google Forms quiz (Short-answer format)
Answer: 10
Instruction: After typing the correct number, students receive a link to the next challenge.
Teacher: "Do you like sports? Go to the Sports Room!"
3. STATION 2: Sport Vocabulary (Gym Room)
Task: Choose all the words related to sport from a list.
Tool: LearningApps – Drag and Drop
Correct answers: Ball, Jump, PT, Basketball, Run
Teacher: “Well done! Now find the kitten who loves milk and sleep.”
4. STATION 3: Sentence Builder (Animals and Actions) Task: Arrange the words into a correct sentence.
Sentence: “My little kitten likes to drink milk and sleep.”
Tool: Wordwall – Unscramble Sentences
Next task: Students receive the puzzle with the first letters of words.
5. STATION 4: Secret Word Puzzle (Vocabulary Riddles)
Task: Find the first letter of each picture word to make a secret word.
Tool: Google Slides with drag-and-drop images and blanks
Words: sister, elephant, computer, rabbit, egg, tiger, apple, red, yes
Hidden word: SECRETARY
Teacher: “Great! Let’s move to the next match-up mission!”
6. STATION 5: Matching Words (Categories) Task: Match items with their categories. Tool: Liveworksheets – Matching Pairs Correct matches:

Hidden word from matched numbers: MUSIC
Teacher: “Almost done! One last correction task!”
7. STATION 6: Correct the Mistakes
Task: Identify and correct mistakes in four sentences. Tool: Google Forms Sentences:
1. At PT lessons, we play the piano. → At music lessons
2. The teacher works in the hospital. → The doctor
3. Apples are red and blue. → red and green
4. Summer is cold and snowy. → Winter is cold and snowy
After correcting all, the students receive the final card: “FINISH! You are great!”
8. CELEBRATION STAGE: STAR REWARD CEREMONY
All students receive virtual stars (the teacher can be creat them in Canva) or printed badges. Students can reflect: “What did you like most about the quest?” on Padlet. The teacher congratulates everyone, optionally taking a group photo.
