Objectives:

By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

-to practice the active vocabulary;

-to develop their reading, writing, speaking skills through various activities;

-to develop their listening skill;

Equipment: tape-recorder, flash cards, charts ,

Procedure:

T: Good morning, dear friends. I’m very glad to see you here. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson-KBH. You are devided into two teams, so I propose to introduce yourselves.

T: Our first competition is “Warming-up”

. Every member of the team pulls out the card with the task & does it. The team can help him or her.

Name 5 countries
Name 5 sports
Name 5 months of the year
Name  5 school subjects
Name 5 sorts of fruit
Name 5 features of your character
Tell us what you are good at.

 

 

T: Our next competition is “Writing a story”. You are given a paper with some parts of the text. You can see the beginning of the text and the end. Your task is to write the main part of the text.

Mary Makes an Onion Soup

 

Mary decided to make a supper. She liked cooking most of all. She bought potatoes, carrots, onions and parsley. She was in a high mood. She wanted to make a surprise for everybody. But suddenly her husband John came home.

Mary was sad. She was disappointed. But her husband came up to her and kissed her. They looked at each other and began to smile.

 

T:You are very clever pupils. Our jury is reading your texts now and I propose you to have a rest and listen to the pupil of the 6^th form with his song “Be polite”.

T: The next competition is to match the beginnings and the ends of the proverbs.

So many languages you know	so many times you are a man.
Better late	than never.
Everything is good	in its season.

T: I know that you are tired, so I want you to watch the dance.

It’s time to write some words. Write down on the pieces of paper as many words as possible which are hidden in the word “Advetisment”. You’ll have only 3 minutes for this task.

T: Our next competition is very interesting. Take a picture from the box, say what holiday it is connected with and tell some sentences about this holiday.

 

 

                  

 

 

                    

T:The last competition is very popular. You are given circles with words.
