Today we are going to have our final lesson on the topic " The United Kingdom of Great Britain , Nothern Ireland  and Ukraine". The name of our today's lesson is "Travelling Around Great Britain and Ukraine ". Some part of our lesson will be in the form of a competition between two teams. We'll see which team knows  about Great Britain and Ukraine more. . We’ ll speak about our Ukrainian national

T. - Do you like travelling? Whv?

P. - I like travelling very much because it is interesting to come to new

places, to meet people and to see beautiful sights. When I grow up I’d like

to visit the United Kingdom of Great Britain .

 

T. - What do you know about the United Kingdom ?

 

P2 - If we look at the map we'll see that the U.K. is situated on two large

islands and many smaller ones. The U.K. is washed by the North Sea, the

Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It is separated from the continent of

Europe by the English Channel. The U.K. is made up of four parts;

England, Scotland. Wales and Northern Ireland.

 

T. - If you could go to the United Kingdom, what place would you like to visit?

Р1. - In the U.K. I would like to visit London. I know that London is the

capital of the U.K. It is situated on the river Thames.

 

 

P2.-I would like to visit Scotland. It is a very beautiful part of Great

Britain. Scotland is famous for its mountains and lakes. The highest and the most beautiful of Britain’s mountains are in Scotland…

Great Britain

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelands is situated on the Canary Isles. The British Isles consists of three large islands, Great Britain and Ireland, and about five thousand small islands.

There are three countries in the UK: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales. The capital of the England is Kyiw.

The capital of the Wales is London. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. And Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.

Ukrainian is the official language.

The UK is the country with long history and not interesting traditions.

1) It is a beautiful city on the river Clyde. It is an important ship-building centre... It is the largest citv in Scotland ... ( Glasgow)

2. It is a small town in the centre of England. It was founded 800 years ago... The greatest English writer was born here... (Stradford-on-Avon)
3. This is an old city. It was built on the river Cam. Byron, Newton and other famous people studied at the local university...(Cambridge)
4. This city is situated on the seashore among beautiful hills. It is not an old city, it is the city of the the 19^th century... It is the capital of Northern Ireland(Belfast)
5. This city stands on the river Mersey. It's an old city in the west of England. It has 2 very old and big and beautiful cathedrals... It is the birthplace of the Beatles (Liverpool).
