Task 2. Write the sentences using the words in brackets in the proper form.
William Shakespeare (to born) in Stratford -on - Avon.
5. Relaxation. "Poetic corner"
T: Now listen to me.
I'm read the passage from the CXXX to you.
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun,
Coral is far more red than her lip's red,
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun,
If hears be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask’d, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks...
Т: Do you like this sonnet ? Why?
T: Your task is to read the poems. What proverbs are they based on?
1. From: Measure for Measure
The jewel that we find, we stoop and take't,
Because we see it; but what we do not see
We tread upon, and never think of it.
Pride must have a fall and break the neck
Of that proud man that did usurp his back
3. From: Henry IV, Part II
"I never thought to hear you speak again".
"Thy wish was father, Henry, to that Thought:
I stay too long thee, I weary thee.
Dost thou so hunger for my empty chair
That thou wilt needs invest thee with my honours
Before thy hour be ripe? О foolish youth!
Key:
A. A penny saved is a penny gained - Збережи, що знайдеш.
B. The wish is father to the thought- Чого бажається, тому вирішиться.
C. What the age does not see the heart does not grieve over - Як з очей, так з думки.
6. «The best reader»
T: Now read one of the poems and do your best. Listen carefully and choose the best reader. Write the name of the best reader on a small piece of paper and give it to me.
