1. Introduction

1. Mingle activity

Dear kids, stand in a circle. Repeat after me: What`s your name? What`s your name? My name is Tom. My name is Liz. How old are you? How old are you? I am six. I am seven. Now join in pairs. Listen to my question and ask each other in turns. What`s your name? (students ask and answer in pairs) Mingle. (they mingle and continue asking) Mingle. How old are you?

2. Family members revision

Kids, what makes us happy? (Students` answers) We are all happy when we have families. Now look at the picture of a family. Name family members. Who is he/she?

(Then teacher asks kids randomly: Have you got a mother/father? What`s her/his name?)

3. Food revision

That`s great. So family makes us happy. What else can`t we live without? Right, it`s food and drinks. Let`s revise food names. You`ll work in two teams. Let`s split into two teams with the help of candies. (students take candies from a bag and form two teams according to the colour of the candy`s wraping) Now in two lines one by one arrange the pictures, written words or audio files into the corresponding category.

Great job, dear. Now let`s work in the same groups. You are going on a picnic and you need to fill the basket with food and drinks you like for it. In turns come to the blackboard (baskets and pictures are on the blackboard), take the food or drink you like and stick it to the basket and the food you don`t like put on the desk.  Say that you like one of them but don`t like the other one: I like…I don`t like…  and take your seat.

4. Animals

Of course, we also can`t imagine our life without pets and wild animals we can see in the zoo. Which animals can be our pets? (students name animals)

A Game

(Previously dividing the class into two teams the way they seat 8:8) Now each of you will get one or two animals (pictures). Stick it/them onto the corresponding place (ocean, sky, land) and then say what these animals can do. (After the students had stuck the pictures, the teacher asks: What`s this? -  It is a… It can…)

6. Letters

Very clever and cute of you. But you can not only speak English, you also can read English. Let`s do the matching exercise in three groups. On the blackboard you see letters, find and stick corresponding pictures and their names. (work in three groups: 1 Angry Birds – A, B, C, D, E, F; 2 Spongebob – G, H, J, K, L, M; 3 Superman – N, P, R, S, T, Z)

7. Feedback

Great job, kids. You were fantastic today as usual. Are you happy? Are you sad? Are you tired? Are you sleepy? Paint your mood in your boxes on a family tree.
