-greetings: Good morning, ! I am happy to greet you at our English lesson. The topic of our today’s lesson is Traditional Ukrainian meals. Today we are going to talk about Ukrainian cuisine, you will recollect vocabulary on theme “Food”, Present Perfect
The topic of our today’s lesson is “Traditional Ukrainian meals”:
-presentation of the proverbs;

- What you can tell about the Ukrainian food?
1. Ukrainian cuisine is very varied and Ukrainians are known for their hospitality.Many cafes,bars and restaurants are opened offfering exellent food at reasonable prices,Ukrainians will never miss a chance to invite you to a family gathering.Women gladly spend a lot of time and energy in the kitchen cooking for family and guests.
2. Ukrainians enjoy a variety of traditional cookery. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper. Breakfast is a simple meal of bread and butter. Lunch may consists of a fish dish, a salad or vegetables. Dinner is the main meal.
3. The traditional Ukrainian food includes hot borsch, kasha, mlyntsi, pyrohy and varenyky.
4. Borsch is cooked of fresh vegetables: cabbage, beet, tomato with the addition of pounded lard with garlic and parsley. The combination of all these groceries give the borsch its piquancy, aroma and unforgettable taste. There are about 30 types of Ukrainian borsch: Poltava borsch, Chernigov borsch, Kiev borsch, Volyn borsch, Lviv borsch and others
5. Ravioli-like pasta stuffed with potato, cabbage, mushrooms, meat or cheese, or with cherries as a sweet dish.As for varenyky all the members of our family enjoy eating them.We like them with curds and potatoes.
6. DOMASHNIA KOVBASA-Ukrainian sausage is delicious.It is preserved in a special way-in porcelain vessels filled by melted fat. A domestic sausage, but it can not be called saliami. The only way to sample true home – prepared sausage is by experiencing it for yourself with the sights and smells of the markets of Ukraine.
7. HOLUBTSI-typical Ukrainian cabbage rools can be made from either pickled or parboiled cabbage leaves,stuffed with rice and vegetable
8. The description of Ukrainian cuisine would be incomplete without salo (pork fat). Ukrainians regularly joke, "Salo is our national pride. It is eaten in thin slices on black bread with garlic and salt. Especially delicious is the smoked version.
9. Stewed meat with potatoes, Ukrainian bitki with garlic and lard, stewed cold boiled pork with cabbage and lard, krucheniki and others have the same popularity among Ukrainian lovers of tasty food.
10. Ukraine national cookery is rich in meals cooked in special cases (wedding, birth of the child, send-off to the army and others). In such a way pancakes of wheat and buckwheat flour and vareniki are the obligatory meals in Pancake week (Maslenica). Meat or liver pies are usually cooked for the most solemn occasions. The ceremonial dish was fruit compote – uzvar.

UKRAINIAN FOOD
We, Ukrainians, like to eat a lot of good tasty food cooked or fresh products. Fruit and vegetables, grown under the hot sun in rich Ukrainian soil of ten without any chemical fertile, have natural taste of real nature products. Since old times Ukrainian national cooking is famous for great variety of tasty and useful dishes. They are good for health because they combine almost everything the human body needs to be healthy. For example, the most popular soup, called borsch, has up to 20 components. A big plate of good borsch gives the person almost all elements and enough energy for half of a working day or so. So many. Ukrainians prefer to eat borsch before hard work.
Ukrainian traditional food and drinks are very interesting from medical point of view. Doctors say that a person, who keeps old Ukrainian traditions in meals, gets everything he needs for health and fruitful mental and physical work. Traditional combinations of products supply the body and brain with all necessary elements and help the body to process meals on the best way.
There is a good Ukrainian tradition to share receipts even with unknown people if they are interested how to cook this or that. Soup is an essential dinner dish. The most popular traditional types of soups are borsch, kapustniak, kulish, yushka and milk soup. In Ukraine we say, "Each hostess has her borsch" because there is a lot of variants to cook it....
