           -  to develop creative thinking;

           -  to show the importance of environmental protection for people all over

              the world;

           -  to bring up love to the native land and its nature.

Level: Intermediate  (9th form, “Oxford Team 3”)

 

Development

  1. Beginning of the lesson.
  2. Main part.

Activity 1. Vocabulary.

List the animals under the categories. Find the extra word.

Frog, lion, flamingo, beetle, cheetah, tiger, butterfly, swan, ant, whale, fly, lizard, fox, salmon, crocodile, eagle, goat, python, rhino, tarantula, turtle, bear, shark, dolphin.

Mammals: lion, cheetah, tiger, whale, fox, goat, rhino, bear, dolphin,

Amphibians: frog,

Fish: salmon, shark,

Birds: swan, flamingo, eagle,

Insects: beetle, butterfly, ant, fly,

Reptiles: lizard, python, crocodile, turtle,

tarantula

Activity 2. Home reading.

S.B. p. 37

-Look at the photo and name the animals.

-Have you ever seen any of the animals?

-Look at the title of the text? Which animal do you think is the most frightening?

-Look at the new words. Repeat after me:

Squeeze - душити

Mammals - ссавець

Predators - хижак

Prey – жертва

-Let’s check your reading and understanding texts (pupils read the texts and explain the meaning of some words)

-What does each animal eat? ()

-Find out from the text how the four animals kill their prey.

Ex.3,

-Read the question, answer them and find the definition in the text.

 

Activity 3. Reading.

W.B. p. 28, ex.3

- Complete the text with the words in the box. Read the text and answer the question:

  • How many wolves are there in the USA?

 

-Look through the text and find information:

  • How many types of wolf are there?
  • What colours are they?
  • Where do they live?
  • What do they eat?
  • Describe wolf.

Activity 4.

-Let’s look to the list of the words and match with the translation.
