T: Dear friends! Let’s start our work. At our previous lesson we spoke about family life, about different kinds of families and their problems. Today we are going to discuss the main question – relations between children and their parents.
I see you are in a good mood and ready to work hard. I want you to be active and wish smiles, understanding, creativity, cooperation, energy, support, success.

There exists an eternal question ‘Parents and children”. Although it sounds very simple but the relationship between parents and children is a very important if not the most important thing in our life. First, parents are the closest people to children. And the relationship between parents and children is supposed to be irreplaceable and steady. From infancy to adulthood parents share the lives with their children all the time and their task is to create a relationship with their children.
T: There are statements, proverbs, sayings about family:
Childhood days are the happiest days. Having a place to go is a home, Having someone to love is a family. Having both is blessing.
The best gift your parents ever gave you is the gift to love.
T.: What do they mean?

1. T.: Lets refresh the knowledge of the words have learned. (Students join the website Quizlet and do the test).
2. Brainstorming “An ideal family”. T.: Everybody wants to live in a happy family where the relationships between parents and children based on love, mutual respect, kindness. Express your thoughts about ideal family. (Students join the web service Lino and each student writes one word characterizing an ideal family). /https://en.linoit.com /
Suggested Answer: (love, support, care, understanding, respect, joy, kindness, patience, equality, compromise and so on).
T.: Well done. Thank you. You have created a portrait of an ideal family.
3. Speaking. Projects Presentation.
T.: Your home task was to prepare a short project about your family. (Some students come to the board, show slides and speak about their families). T.: Answer the questions: - Have you learned anything new about your classmates? - Whose speech was the best? T.: Summing up I would like to tell that your parents are the nearest and the dearest people who devote themselves to their children with heart and soul, they do their best to help you solve all the problems, they love you and you are happy. . 4. Reading. T.: As we see the parents occupy the most important place in children’s lives, especially your mother, your angels. From the cradle we have heard the song of our mothers. Let’s read the poem “A letter to my Mum” and then you will work in pairs answering the questions: -What is your mother for you? - Do you agree that your mother is your angel on earth? - Do you want to thank your lucky stars for your mother? Why? - Do you often say “thank you” to your parents?

5. Listening. T.: I think you all agree that it isn’t easy to be always in good relations with all members of the family, because different generations have different opinions. Teenagers always have different problems at school, at home, with friends. There’s a well-known quote by L. Tolstoy “Every happy family resembles one another, but every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way” Listen to and watch the song performed by the American singer Pink “Family portrait”. (Students listen to the song and then join naurok and do online test.
6. Watching. T.: Nowadays teenagers face a lot of temptations including increased use of communication devices and social media and lots more. It can turn into an addiction and affect teenager’s lifestyle. Very often teenagers are rebellious and refuse to obey rules. Sometimes they are in depression, they can get angry with their parents. Before watching. Students are divided into three groups. Each group gets the case with instructions: -watch the video from TV show “Honey, we are killing our kids” (three different fragments, one for each group); -using the video discuss in the group the problems in the family; -share your ideas about how can be solved the problem; -choose the best variant and present it to the whole class. After watching. Discussion: 1.What makes a good parent? 2.What are children’s responsibilities?
