Theme : "Clothes in different seasons"
Focus: Speaking skills development
Lesson objective:
Learners will learn and use vocabulary related to clothes in the context of different seasons. They will develop basic speaking skills through dialogues, pair work, and short oral presentations.
Lesson stages:
1. Warm-up
Greeting and quick about the day and weather:
"How are you today?" "What’s the weather like?"
Fun game: "Season mime" – learners mime a season, classmates guess.
2. Lead-in
Show flashcards or images with clothes and seasons (scarf, shorts, boots, coat).
Ask questions:
"What do you wear in summer?" / "Do you wear a scarf in winter?"
3. Pre-speaking
Introduce 6–8 new vocabulary words:
boots, gloves, swimsuit, sunglasses, raincoat, jumper
Teach short speaking structures:
"In winter, I wear..."
"When it’s hot, I wear..."
"In rainy weather, I usually wear..."
Pair task: match clothes to the correct season using word and picture cards.
4. Speaking
Game: "What’s in the wardrobe?"
One learner describes the season, the other picks suitable clothes.
"It’s cold and snowy." – "Then he needs a coat and boots."
Pair work: Mini-dialogue practice
A: "What do you wear in summer?"
B: "I wear shorts and a T-shirt."
Learners practice and then present to the class.
5. Post-speaking
Learners make 3 simple sentences about themselves:
"In spring, I wear..." / "I like wearing..."
Choose a season and describe what they would wear (with a picture prompt).
6. Homework
Draw yourself in your favorite season and write 3 sentences about what you are wearing.
7. Feedback and reflection
Learners show 1–5 fingers to rate the lesson.
Teacher asks:
"What was easy? What was difficult? What did you enjoy today?"
Wrap-up: "Today we talked about clothes and seasons. Great job, everyone!"
