Topic. Enjoy your meal.

Goals: Повторити та закріпити знання учнів з теми, ЛО з теми, граматичний матеріал. Вчити учнів інтонації при мовленні.

            Розвивати логічне мислення, пам’ять, самостійність.

            Виховувати інтерес до англійської мови, до предмету взагалі.

Equipment: copies, crosswords, tape-recorder, flower.

 

1. Organization of the lesson.

 

1. Playing the game “I like”.

Teacher: I like juice.

Pupil 1: I like juice and apple.

Pupil 2: I like juice, apple and pear.

 

2. Checking on homework. Solving the crosswords.

• Now write these words from ex. 3, 4 in alphabetical order.

3. Work with the text.

Ex. 1, p. 72

• Read the text sentence by sentence.
• Answer the questions. What is a favourite Ukrainian dish?
• What do you need?

“Coffee and Tea”

Molly, my sister, and I fell out.

And what do you think it was about?

She loved coffee and I loved tea,

And what was the reason we couldn’t agree.

2. Solving the problems.
   • I see nine apples

     On the apple-tree;

     On a little plate;

5. Work in groups.

TASKS:

1 Group.

• Eat at pleasure, drink with measure. – Ешь в удовольствие, пей в меру.
• A hungry man is an angry man. – Голодный человек – сердитый человек.
• An apple a day keeps the doctor away. – Кто яблоко в день съедает, у того доктор не бывает.
• Too many cooks spoil the broth. – Много поваров испортят бульон.
• You cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs. – Не разбивши яиц, омлет не приготовишь.
• Dog doesn’t eat dog. – Волк волка не съест.
• The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. – Путь к сердцу мужчины лежит через его желудок.
• Man doesn’t live by bread alone. – Человек жив не только хлебом насущным.
• The appetite comes with eating. – Аппетит приходит во время еды.
• You can’t eat a cake and have it. – Ты не можешь съесть торт и иметь его.
• First catch your hare then cook him. – Делить шкуру неубитого медведя.

6. Grammar Revision.

• Help the children to choose a/an or some.

An egg, a pear, some oil, an apple, a toast, some tea, some bread, a carrot, some fruit, a scone ([skon] – ячменная, пшеничная лепешка), some butter, a tomato, some milk, an onion, an orange, some flour, a banana, some cheese.

 

3.  Summarizing.

• Translate the words into Ukrainian.

 

2. Homework.

• Read the ex. 5, p. 71.

 

3. Drawing the faces.

• Take this faces and draw your smile on it. If you like this lesson, draw this smile. If you don’t like the lesson, draw this smile.
