I. Вступна частина

1. Привітання

 T : Good afternoon, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Sit down, please. Today we have got an unusual lesson.  Many guests have come to our lesson. I see you are in good mood. I am sure you are full of energy and ready to work hard.  Now, let’s begin our lesson.

2. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку

T: Look at the blackboard, please. Here you can see the following phrases. You have to guess the word made of the first letters.

Make many friends .

Use your knowledge.

Speak only English.

Invite guests.

Come to the disco.

 T : Well, children, what is the topic of our lesson? (Відповіді учнів)

 T: You’re right it’s music.  We are going to remember the words and expressions on this topic, learn some new information . Besides, we’ll practice your reading and speaking skills on this topic. We’ll  try to discuss why music is important in your life. So our today’s topic is “Music in our life”.

3.Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу .

 T: Look at the blackboard, please, and read the motto of our lesson: “Without music life would be boring and colorless” And   give me your own definition of the word ‘music’. ( Відповіді учнів).

1. Revising the vocabulary.

 T : We’ve already learnt a lot of words and expressions about music. What musical instruments can you remember? Look at the blackboard! Let’s revise them. (Відповіді  учнів).

T : The next task for you is

 “Guess the music style” I’ll give you cards with the texts. Your task is to read   and understand the   texts and  match the type of music to the definitions.

Complete the sentences with the words from the box:

 T : Do you like listening to music? Can you easily identify different types of music? Check your abilities. Listen to the five pieces of music and categorize them under the following headings-

5.  Speaking

 T: Now I am sure, that everybody sitting in this classroom likes music.

1)  What music do you like and why?

 T : Look at the blackboard! .Use these adjectives: Beautiful, touching, serious, cheerful, relaxing, sad, simple, traditional, healing, emotional, exciting, catchy, soothing, pleasant, romantic, energetic.

for example : As for me, I like pop music because it is cheerful, simple and touching.

 2) Say where we usually listen to music?  ( Учні відповідають)

5. Listening (Music pause)

T : Listen to a song by E. Presley “Love me tender” and fill in the text  with missing words. I always will;  my life complete, dreams fulfilled , always will ; tender, to your heat , long , I belong ,mine, the end of time,  sweet, true, I love you , love; (Учні слухають запис пісні, заповнюють пропуски словами.)

T: Let's check your work! Read the song. Now  listen the translation of this song. Do you like it? ( Учні відповідають)

 

 

6 Reading

 T : Let’s read and discuss the text “Music in our life”.

1)  Pre-Reading Activity.T : Look at the blackboard, you can see the new words. Try to memorize them. It will help you to enrich your vocabulary.

prefer [prɪˈfɜː(r)] віддавати перевагу,

entertain – [entəˈteɪn ] - розважати

T : a) Let’s repeat, all together.

 b) Гра »Snowball». Учень 1 читає перше слово, учень 2 – перше + друге слова, учень3 – перше + друге + третє. Останній учень читає усі слова.

People cannot live without music. They listen to music, dance to music or learn to play musical instruments. There is music everywhere: at home, in a concert hall, in the park, at the seaside, in the forest and even in the street.

Music is not only a combination of pleasant sounds. It is an art which reflects life. Music reflects people's ideas and emotions. In this world of ours, filled with conflicts, tragedies, joys and hopes, music strives to speak to people of what is most important, urgent and poignant.

Music in the lives of different people is different: some compose music, others play music, and others only listen to it. A lot of people who cannot play any musical instrument love to listen to music either at home or at a concert. Different people like different kinds of music. You may prefer pop or rock music, country or folk music, classical music or jazz, but you certainly cannot think of a day without music.

As for me, I prefer ... music. I have a lot of cassettes (CDs, records). I try to watch all the programmes dealing with it on TV and to go to the concerts as often as possible. My favourite composer (singer, musician) is... I think he (she) is very talented. I can (not) play an instrument (the piano, the guitar, the violin). It is a great pleasure to be able to play an instrument and I like it a lot.
