Lesson “Ukraine Is Our Motherland”

Objectives:

  • to develop pupils’ communication skills using active vocabulary on the topic;
  • to develop pupils’ skills in listening and writing;
  • to enrich pupils’ knowledge on the topic;
  • to teach pupils to work in groups.

 

PROCEDURE

 

  1. Introduction

T: Good morning, children! How are you today?

Let’s greet each other and start our lesson.

What kind of pupils are you?

Ps - I am a pupil.

      I am a good pupil

      I am a clever pupil

      I am  a talented pupil

      I am a brilliant pupil

       I am trying to be the best pupil in the world.

T: I’m glad you are OK and ready to work. You see the epigraph written on the blackboard. Let’s read it all together.

 

Ps. He, who loves not his country, can loves nothing.

     There is  no place like home.  East or West home is best.

T: So, the theme of our lesson is “ Ukraine is our Motherland”.

 

  1. Warming-up

T: First of all let’s recite a poem “Ukraine

              Ukraine

  Blue sky and yellow field of grain

 Is on the flag of my Ukraine

  It’s emblem speaks to all the world

  With freedom – such a lovely word

  Long live and pray, my land Ukraine.

 

Poem “My country”

Some people live in the country

Where the houses are very small.

Some people live in the city

Where the houses are very tall.

But in the country

The gardens are very big.

And in the city

Where the houses are tall

  1. Revising activity.

My name is Danylo. 1'd like to tell you about my native town-Nizhyn.

It is in Chernihiv region. It stands on the Oster river. Nizbyn is 855 years old.

81,000 people live here. Nizbyn was a famous centre of culture and arts. Poets Taras Sbevchenko, Oleksandr Pushkin and many other well-known people visited Nizhyn. Writer Mykola Hohol studied in Nizhyn.

There are many monuments, churches and museums in my town. There is the Art Gallery and Drama Theatre in Nizhyn. We are proud of our town. Come and you'll see true historical places!

Hi! I am Iryna.

I'm from Skala-Podilska. It is a big village in Ternopil region. Skala Podilska is famous for its large park. There are more than 100 kinds of trees in it. My favourite trees are oak-trees1.

They are strong and can be very old. One of them is over 400 years old. They say that Bohdan Khmelnytskyi had a nap2 under it.

There are many birds in out- park, too. You should visit our beautiful village.

I am sure you'll love it.
