УРОК З ТЕМИ:  «SCHOOL IN MY LIFE»   (8^th  form )

Мета уроку:

- удосконалювати навички усного  мовлення, читання, аудіювання; вчити аналізувати отриману інформацію; систематизувати вивчений  матеріал;

-   розвивати слухову пам’ять, увагу, логічне мислення, уміння працювати в групі; розвивати уміння робити зіставлення, висловлювати свою думку,  збагатити  словниковий запас;

- виховувати розуміння важливого значення освіти та оволодіння іноземною мовою і потреби  користуватися нею, як засобом  спілкування, виховувати повагу до школи . Виховувати в учнів позитивне ставлення до школи, до навчання, зацікавленість в розширенні своїх знань.

Тип уроку:   урок комплексного використання знань, умінь та навичок.

Teacher: Good morning, class. Our today’s lesson is dedicated to the very important topic:  SCHOOL IN OUR LIFE. You  will discuss your school, the subjects, say what you like and dislike about the school.  And you will make the project of an ideal school.

Let’s read the motto of the lesson:

Look at the screen and match the beginning of the proverb in column A with its ending in column B.

                  First let’s guess the classrooms described and the subjects

1.GAME    «Guess the room», «Guess the subject».

Group 1

1. Books, newspapers, magazines are kept there. You go there to borrow or read books. (A library)
2. A room where you have lessons at school. (A classroom)
3. Meetings, performances, gatherings and parties are held in it. (An assembly hall)
4. A place where you can watch sports matches. (A stadium)
5. A room where you do exercises for your body. (A gymnasium)
6. A room where you can eat sandwiches and drink tea or juice during the break. (A canteen)
7. A room for teachers and class registers. (A teachers’ room)

Group 2

1. You do a lot of experiments during this lesson (Chemistry).

2. You read books, stories and poems bu different authors and discuss them  (Literature).

3. You use calculators to do the tasks at this lesson (Math).

4. Before this lesson you warm up and then run and jump in the gum (Physical Training).

5. You learn a lot of facts about different countries (Geography).

6. At this lesson you learn about kings and queens (History).

7. You draw portraits and make different things during this lesson (Art).

2. READING

3. PROJECT GROUP WORK

Teacher:        Now let’s make the project of an ideal school you would like to        study at.

Pupils present their projects ( homework ) in groups.
GROUP I.

Present the general information and describe the building.

My school is new and modern and I like it very much. It has three floors . The classrooms are light and spacious. There are classrooms for different subjects , such as English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Literature etc. The time-table is very busy, pupils have 6 or 7 lessons aday.

The school day starts at 8 o’clock am and lessons are over at 2.30 pm.

The teachers in our school are very skilled. They try to give us all their knowledge and awake our interest to their subjects and to self study. Besides the school subjects, our teachers tell us about everything, about different problems of our world, such as ecology, nature protection, climat changes etc.

GROUP  II.

Present  the facilities  of the school.

There is a computer classroom  in our school. We study computer science here. The computer class has the most modern equipment and the Internet access.

We’ve also an assembly hall, which is situated on the second floor. Meetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place here. We prepare different performances for all holidays. We sing songs, recite poetry, dance, and participate in theatre performances.

There are many opportunities to go in for sports in our school. Our school has a gym, a sports ground, a football field, a swimming pool, and other sports facilities. There are many different sports groups: table tennis, swimming, athletics, football, volleyball, wrestling, and rhythmic gymnastics. Many pupils of our school attend these sports groups.
