Procedure

1. Warming up

T. Good morning, students! I am glad to see you. How are you today? I hope you are OK. Today it is very fashionable to speak about teenage problems. But the life of youth is very interesting. It is the time of happiness from one hand and the time of conflicting feelings on the other hand. So, as you have already understood, we’ll continue speaking about “The life of Youth”. Today we are speaking about your hobbies. At the end of the lesson you will be able to understand and use new words and word combinations on the topic in your speech.

Brainstorming

Let’s think and say how teens can spend their free time.

T. You are right. Now if you put all the words in the proper order, you will name the theme of our lesson (Ukrainian, teenagers, hobbies, of)

P. The theme of our lesson is “Hobbies of Ukrainian teenagers”

T. Yes, you are quite right. Hobbies differ like tastes. I wonder if you know the meaning of the word “hobby”. Hobby is something that you do very much in your …(free time) e.g. making models, growing flowers, collecting things.

T. Hobbies are usually chosen according to the interests. So today we have two groups, according to the last class survey our students divided into “Computer games mad” and “Music mad”. Every group have a questionnaire “How mad you are about…” Ask questions each other and make a conclusion about their hobby. Present your conclusions.
