Colours (1 Form)
Objectives:
- to improve lexical material on the topic "Greetings";
- to introduce new vocabulary on the topic "Colours";
- to improve learners' speaking and listening skills;
- to develop learners' creative skills;
- to develop learners' communicative skills, their thinking and attention;
- to teach learners to work in groups.
Equipment: a projector, a laptop, topical flashcards, handouts.
Procedure
I. Introduction. Warming-up
T: Hello, children! Let's greet each other with our song.
( Learners sing a song "Hello" and the teacher helps them.)
T: Look at the screen, please! Watch the short video and find the main words.
( Learners watch the video about colours.)
T: The topic of our lesson is "Colours". Look at the board, please! You can see the cards with different colours. Let's name the colours in English. Please, repeat after me.
II. The Main Part of the Lesson
1. Vocabulary Practice
T: Now let's play the game "What colour is missing?"
(The teacher explains the rules of the game to learners. And then they name the missing colours in chorus.)
T: Very well!
(The teacher shows some pictures to learners: an apple, grass, the sky, the sun.)
2. Consolidation
T: Look at the screen again, please! Repeat after me the words: an apple, grass, the sky, the sun sun. OK!
( Learners repeat after the teacher the given words some times. Then the teacher shows the pictures of the words again and ask the following questions: What is it? What colour is it? Learners answer the questions in a chain.)
3. Learning a song "What colour is it?"
4. Group Work
T: I have got some pictures on the desk. Come to me and take any picture you like.
Who has got an apple? Come to me. What colour is the apple? (Red) Take your seats at the red desk.
Who has got the sun? Come to me. What colour is the sun? (Yellow) Take your seats at the yellow desk
Who has got the sky? Come to me. What colour is the sky? (Blue) Take your seats at the blue desk.
Who has got green grass? Come to me. What colour is it? (Green)
Take your seats at the green desk.
T: Well done!
(Learners colour their pictures in groups and name the colours in English. The teacher gives them three minutes to do the task.)
III. Summarizing. Reflection
T: Now, show me your pictures. What colour is your apple(grass, the sky, the sun)?
(Learners answer the questions.)
T: Thank you very much for the lesson. You are super! Do you like our lesson? Show me your smiles, please.
OK. Our lesson is over. Say goodbye to each other.
