The Day of Independence

Almost every country

Has important dates

Honoring important

Historical events.

The Day of Independence

Is the main holiday (to be honest!)

Which is celebrated

On 24 August.

Ukraine is a sovereign state

With its own territory,

National emblem and flag,

Its own national glory!

In 1991 Ukraine adopted

The document of great importance.

It opened a new page,

Its importance is enormous.

The everlasting dream of Ukrainians

Finally came true.

Ukraine became a free state,

Despite the struggles it went through.

There are lots of different concerts,

Fireworks and outdoor exhibitions,

Free public markets, fairs 

In all Ukrainian cities.

The Day of Independence

Is the day of freedom.

There will be happier times

Which you and I believe in!
