What’s the difference between A and An?
A = An
the same meaning
We use A if the noun starts with a consonant:
B-C-D-F-G-H-J-K-L-M-N-P-Q-R-S-T-V-W-Y-Z
We use AN if the noun starts with a vowel:
A-E-I-O-U
Y – is a vowel only in some English words (but not in the beginning)
Remember!
We use the articles A or An only with the nouns in singular:
a book = 1 book a house = 1 house
And we don’t use these articles with nouns in plural:
books = 2 books houses = 3 houses
