CALVARY ROBIN
A story is told in Ireland that a robin came flying over Calvary on the first Good Friday. He looked down at Jesus upon the cross and saw a thorn from the hawthorn crown had pierced the skin of His forehead. And the robin swooped down, he did, to pluck out that thorn with his beak.
A drop of blood flowed out of the wound and stained Robin’s breast. And since that day, the Little One’s breast feathers have been the self – same red as Our Lord’s blood, they have. It was a blessing, you know, for the bird’s kindness. Look out for a robin and see for yourself now.
WRENS AND ROBINS
Wrens and robins in the hedge,
Wrens and robins here and there,
Building, perching, pecking,
Fluttering everywhere.
