Aim: to develop interest to native country and students’ communicative skills
Age: 10-12 years
Level: intermediate
The class is divided into groups (4-5people). Each group receives a set of cards,
they are put on the table into column, the text is down. One member of the team takes the top card without showing the text, silently read the name of the place where he wanted to go with his/her friends, and describe it, without naming. Student who guesses takes this card and the next. The winner is a student who has more cards.
Example:
S1: I would like to go to this city with my friends, because it is very big and beautiful, has a lot of historical places to visit.
S2: Is it Dnipropetrovs’k?
S1: No, it isn’t.
S2: Is it Kyiv?
S2: Yes, it is.

Then students from each group read the answer (each correct answer is 1 point). Next task is to describe how we celebrate these holidays (each correct answer is 1 point).
