A) Khreshchatyk is the main and the most beautiful street in the city. A lot of chestnut trees grow along this street. These trees are the symbol of the city.

B)Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra a big monastery with many ancient churches and museums. It is famous for its underground caves. Thousands of Christians from different countries of the world come to visit it every year.

C)It is one of the oldest universities in Kyiv. Taras Shevchenko National University is the third oldest university in Ukraine after the University of Lviv and University of Kharkiv. Currently, its structure consists of fifteen faculties (academic departments) and five institutes. It was founded in 1834.

D)Golden Gate is a unique fortification architecture monument that survived until nowadays. It was constructed in 1017-1024 and served as a main gala entrance to Kiev. The great tower with Annunciation Church delighted contemporaries and terrified enemies.

E)The St. Andrew's Church is situated in Podil. Bartolomeo Rastrelli, a Russian architect, built this beautiful building during the mid-eighteenth century under the command of Catherine the Great. Today, the St. Andrew's Church is regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in Kiev and an important landmark, which is visited by many people who come to the city on holiday

F)St. Sofia Cathedral is the world famous historical and architectural monument of the first half of the 11th century. The name of the cathedral comes from Greek word "sofia", which means "wisdom". Built in the times of Yaroslav Mudry, the cathedral served as a social, political and cultural center of Kievan Rus.

G) The Independence Square, or Maidan Nezalezhnosti, is the central square in Kiev, the main and the most beautiful one. Parades, concerts, festivals and other city arrangements and holidays take place on this square. It contains six fountains, Independence Column and artificial waterfall.

H) The Saint Vladimir Monument is dedicated to the Great Prince of Kiev Vladimir the Great built in 1853. It is the oldest sculptural monument, a dominating feature of Dnieper's slopes and one of the city's symbols.
