Тема.   Kyiv – the heart of Kyivan Rus

Мета:  поглибити та систематизувати знання учнів про історичні події нашої країни періоду Київської Русі.

Задачі уроку:

• активізувати країнознавчі знання й мовні уміння учнів;
• активізувати та закріпити вивчений лексико-граматичний  матеріал;
• удосконалювати   вміння  та навички читання, аудіювання, письма, усного мовлення, реагувати вербально  на запитання;
• формувати  в учнів комунікативну компетенцію в процесі творчих та діалогічних вправ;мотивувати готовність брати участь в іншомовному спілкуванні, бажання до подальшого самовдосконалення у галузі володіння іноземною мовою;
• розвивати вміння аналізувати історичні факти й події, узагальнювати фактичний матеріал;
• формувати ціннісні орієнтири до навчально-пізнавальної діяльності учнів через розвиток соціально комунікативних здібностей шляхом залучення вихованців до творчої групової діяльності;
• виховувати шанобливе ставлення до минулого України, почуття патріотизму.

Тип уроку: інтегрований урок узагальнення і систематизації знань

Очікувані результати :

• установлювати хронологічну тривалість і послідовність зазначених подій та явищ;
• характеризувати роль міста Києва в утворенні держави східних слов’ян; роль перших князів у становленні Київської держави (Русі-України);
• складати запитання щодо перебігу історичної події;
• аргументувати власну позицію під час обговорення поставлених питань; називати князів Київської Русі IX—XI ст.;
• працювати в малих групах;
• презентувати колективну та особисту думку.

Інструктивно-методична частина

Іноземна мова – один з найуніверсальніших предметів, здатних збагачувати зміст навчання. Об'єднання іноземної мови з іншими предметами має на меті вирішувати проблеми, з якими не можна впоратися не лише в межах однієї дисципліни, а й цілого циклу, оскільки необхідно застосовувати знання різних наук. Створення таких комплексних дисциплін певною мірою вирішує завдання розробки та впровадження методів прискореної освіти, що є важливим у сучасних умовах, коли людство відшукує шляхи скорочення термінів навчального процесу. Зазначимо, що сучасна програма курсу історії України передбачає засвоєння значного за обсягом матеріалу за досить обмежену кількість часу.

На інтегрованих заняттях з іноземної мови вирішуються наступні завдання: поповнення словникового запасу та інтенсивна активізація лексичних одиниць, накопичених на попередніх етапах навчання; тренування та корекція навичок вимови; розвиток дискусійних і комунікативних умінь, подальший розвиток творчих умінь та навичок усного і письмового мовлення. Тому є за доцільним проведення даної інтеграції (англійська мова та історія).

Даний урок є доцільним проводити після вивчення теми з історії України «Київська Держава (Русь – Україна) наприкінці X – другій половині XII ст.»

2. Warming up (2’)

(Pupils sing a song)

«We All Live in the City of Kyiv»

In the city where I was born

There are a lot of chestnut trees.

It is famous for the river

It’s been standing for centuries.

You can see a lot of churches

In the city where I was born.

It was founded by three brothers

And their sister as you know.

 Refrain:

 We all live in the city of Kyiv (3 times )

In the 8-th – 12-th centuries (2 times)

Kyiv was the heart of Rus.

It is said to be the greatest

Capital city – say different books.

Refrain

As we live in the city

Which is old

 At the same time young

 And it has a lot of sights

 

II. Main part of the lesson

 

1. Introducing the topic (4’)

Look at the pictures. What historical events they can be related to?

 

- So what is the subject of our lesson?

- Today we’ll have an unusual lesson: we’ll make travelling in time, revise history of Kyivan Rus, practice our listening, speaking and writing skills, we act it in pairs, ask and answer about historical landmarks and main dates of our capital .

In the 12^th century, feudal conflicts split Kyivan Rus into 15principalitiesand lands

In 882, Prince Oleh the Seer defeated the Kyiv Princes Askold and Dir and brought the Slavic tribes of Eastern Europe together.

In the 8th and 9th centuries Kyivan Rus expanded and developed, and later became one of the target and mightiest of medieval powers. It stretched from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Black Sea in the south and from the headwaters of the Vistula in the west to the Taman Peninsula in the east.

In 1240.Tatar Mongols captured Kyiv

In 988 Prince Volodymyr accepted Orthodox Christianity as the religion of his lands.

 In 913, After Oleh’s death, Ihor and his wife Princess Olha joined the Drevlyans’ land to Kyivan Rus. After Igor's death, Olha ruled Kyivan Rus as regent on behalf of their son Svyatoslav. As revenge, Princess Olha burnt the town of Iskorosten to ashes.

In the 11^th century Kievan Rus' reached its greatest extent under Yaroslav the Wise

- We are going to practice role play today. Imagine that you are in tour. One of group will be a tour guides, another – foreign tourists.

Tour guides. You are going to show your town. You should prepare speech and then give a guided tour. Be prepared to answer the tourists’ questions! Also you can use the map of Kyiv and show places of interest of your tour.

• history or legends
• places of interest
