Інтегрований урок з математики на іноземної мови

Тема: Математика в історії людства: від минулого до сьогодення.

Мета уроку: сприяти розвитку в учнів умінь використовувати числівники до 100, ознайомити учнів з римськими числівниками,  розвивати логічне мислення, пам’ять, пізнавальну активність, увагу, вміння учнів працювати з роздавальним матеріалом, удосконалювати навички парної та самостійної роботи, формувати навички співробітництва, стимулювати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

Обладнання: ТНЗ (мультимедійний проектор, комп’ютер), роздатковий матеріал .

Тип уроку: урок активізації набутих знань.

Методи: робота в парах, «Мозковий штурм»,  метод «Мікрофон».

Хід уроку:

І. Початок уроку.

1.Організаційний момент, повідомлення теми  уроку.

T: Today we are going to have an unusual lesson. We combine the English lesson and the lesson of Maths. What is common between the English language and Mathematics? Any language consists of symbols, letters, rules and history. Mathematics also has its history, rules, symbols and numbers

2. Введення іншомовну атмосферу.

T: Where can we use numbers in our daily life?

P: We use numbers when we go shopping.

P: We can see numbers in the calendars.

T: Watch this video and tell where you can find numbers. (Numbers in Daily Life!)

T: So, where can we find numbers?

PP: clocks, calendars, telephone numbers, and the numbers of the houses, timetables, measure, calculators, recipes, shopping and lotto.

ІІ. Основна частина.

1.Повторення лексичного матеріалу.

T: In English we use ABC letters, but in Maths we use numbers. Let’s sing a song and revise counting up to 100. (Children sing a song – Count to 100 by 10)

T: Look at the cards and say the numbers: 26, 79, 38, 62, 43, 51, 84, 100, 95, 47, 89, 21, 68, 54, and 72.

2. Розвиток навичок аудіювання.

T: And now let’s write a maths dictation. Open your exercise books and write the date and class work. Are you ready?

Dictation: 11, 24, 46, 12, 52, 60, 16, 39, 71, 20, 85, 97, 100

T: Now look at the board and check your dictations. Swap your notebooks with your neighbour. Take a pencil and write pluses above the numbers. Count pluses and put the mark. So, if you write 8 pluses, the mark is eight.

3. Подача нового матеріалу.

T:  Nowadays we use Arabic numbers, but earlier people used Roman numerals. Romans used letters. Name these letters: I, V, X. Now look at the board! You see,

I is one (1), V is five (5), X is ten (10)

If we combine letters, we can make other numbers.

 For example:

VI = 6 (V+I)

XVIII = 18 (X+V+I+I+I)

But when you put the smaller numbers on the left, you subtract to make number:

IV = 4 (V-I)

IX = 9 (X-I)

T: And now let’s make Roman numerals! Go to the board, look at the Arabic numbers and tell what letters (I, V, X) you need.

P:  Three. I need I + I +I.

Pre-reading task.

T: Now look through the text and find Roman numerals. What are they?

 T: Read the text silently.

Hello. My name is Tom. I am IX years old. I live in London. My address is XXVII Green Street. I live in flat XII.

I go to school V days a week. I am in Year IV.  I learn XI subjects at school. My lessons start at VIII o’clock. I go home at III o’clock.

In the evening I do my homework. I have dinner at VII o’clock. After dinner I watch TV. I go to bed at X o’clock.

Post-reading task.

T: Work in pairs. Tick these sentences true or false.

True / False.

1. Tom is 9 years old.
2. His address is Number 24 Green Street, Flat 12.
3. Tom goes to school 6 days a week.
4. He learns 13 subjects at school.
5. His lessons start at 9 o’clock.
6. Tom has dinner at 7 o’clock.
7. He goes to bed at 11 o’clock.

T: Let’s check the answers. Read the statement and say if it is true or false. (Each pair reads a sentence).

II. Заключна частина.

1.Підведеня підсумків уроку.

T: You worked very well at the lesson, so I’ve got a present for you. To get it you must read these Roman numerals. Compare them and find Arabic numbers on the board. On the other side you find an alphabetical letter. When you find all the letters, you will guess the present.

T: Right you are! Let’s play bingo! You see numbers on your cards. Listen to me and cross out the numbers you hear. The first who crosses out all the numbers is the winner!

T: Open your diaries and write down your homework! Your homework is to do a test. (The teacher gives out test papers).
