Тема уроку: Син Вічності і Слави. Вільям Шекспір. Сонети.

 

Мета уроку: ознайомити учнів з біографією і віхами творчості видатного англійського драматурга та поета; поглибити знання школярів про сонет як  жанр;

розвивати навички аналізу сонета, виразного читання рідною та англійською мовами, зв’язного мовлення; виховувати почуття поваги до творчості В.Шекспіра;

виховувати любов до поезії; розширити та активізувати лексичний запас учнів; вчити учнів декламувати англійську поезію; розвивати мовленнєву компетенцію учнів; виховувати інтерес до англійської літератури.

 

Обладнання: підручник, портрет В.Шекспіра, тексти сонетів, аудіо записи сонетів, виставка книг В.Шекспіра, дидактичний матеріал.

 

Тип уроку: бінарний урок.

So today we have an excellent chance to plunge into the atmosphere of love and poetry, because our lesson is dedicated to the greatest playwright in the world literature. I hope all of you will take an active part in it. Some pupils have learnt the most popular things written by great writer.

It is impossible to speak about the English literature without speaking about this author. He was the man who had the largest and most comprehensive soul. People all over the world can’t help admiring his great talent.

 Well. Look at the presentation. Here you can see three sayings. Let’s read them and try to guess who is the author of those words? Do you know whose words are that? No?

 Well I have a magic box; I think it will help you to solve it. Put your hand into the box and take out a piece of paper and read it. Who wrote comedies/tragedies/plays/sonnets? Don’t you know?

 Well I think this rebus will help you to solve it. Look at the puzzle and try to solve it. What does it mean?

Now we’ll listen to some facts from W. Shakespeare’s biography and the time when he lived and worked.

We can’t speak about Shakespeare without speaking about his sonnets. They are his only lyrical pieces, the only things he has written about himself. By reading between the lines of the sonnets we may see a tragedy in Shakespeare’s life, a tragedy which he might not have fully understand himself.

Many centuries have passed since his death, but Shakespeare is still considered to be the greatest of all playwrights and poets. His plays are still acted in the whole world.

 5. Listening. And now I want to suggest you to listen to the sonnet 130  by W. Shakespeare in original.

The last half of the 16^th and the beginning of the 17^th centuries are known as the Golden Age of English Renaissance and sometimes are called «The Age of Shakespeare». People often call Sh. «Our National Bard», «The Immortal Poet of Nature».

We don’t know a lot of facts of Shakespeare’s life. We can only guess what kind of man he was, that’s why there are many legends about his life.

 Dear friends, thank you for the lesson. You have learnt a lot of things about Shakespeare’s family, about his native town, about his place and his sonnets.  I think it was very interesting and you will remember our lesson for a long time. Shakespeare was a great poet. He was “for all time”.
