                    The theme: Save our Planet.

Objectives:  to practice new vocabulary concerning the topic, to develop students’ abilities to read, to develop speaking skills, to practice to use Past Simple or Present Perfect, to enrich students’ knowledge on the topic.

Supplies: a book, sheets of paper with tasks, cards, copy-books, pictures.

                                               Procedure 

          I The beginning of the lesson.

    Greeting: Good morning. How are you today?

    Aim: The topic of our lesson is «Save our Planet». Today we are going to practice new vocabulary concerning the topic, to develop students’ abilities to read, to develop speaking skills, to practice to use Past Simple or Present Perfect and at the end of the lesson we will try to find out the solution of the problem, «How to Save our Planet».

         II Warming up.

   So let’s start our lesson with a poem, it will be the motto of our lesson.

                                          We want to see blue seas,

                                          We want to see green trees

                                          We are defenders of our land

                                          We want to breathe clear air,

                                          We want to show we care.

                                          We know the future in our hand.

   Let’s go on our lesson, we know that people have polluted our planet, the Earth and now help me to name all the problems we have. While we will be discussing the problems, several pupils will have to translate some word and word phrases.

   Your home task for today was to prepare some information animals that are in danger now. You will read us your information and pupils will have to guess which animal you have described.

   Now I will give you some pictures and you have to describe them.

          III  The main part of the lesson.

     Let’s remind our grammar material.

           Past Simple                                   Present Perfect

    We have three groups and every person will have to identify the tense form of the sentence. For each correct answer the team will get a point.

  1. They have thrown rubbish everywhere.
  2. He has done the cleaning.
  3. Last summer we were at the sea side.
  4. My friend has cut down that tree already.
  5. People have polluted the air.
  6. That old factory polluted the river.
  7. They fought against nuclear weapon.
  8. Our planet has given us food and clothes.
  9. They were glad to see that animal.
  10.                    That animal was in danger.
  11.                    Water pollution has killed millions of fish.
  12.                    They didn’t know the rule.
  13.                    Have they got any problem?
  14.                    We have got a new idea.
  15.                    She took care of me when I was small.

Please, open the brackets and put the verbs into the correct form.

  1. They ……… ………. (kill) millions of fish already.
  2. Yesterday the cloud …………. (look) like a white sheep.
  3. They ……….. ……….. (already, cause) different problems.
  4. He ……… ……….. (just, find) the solution of the problem.
  5. The day before yesterday, they …………. (discuss) the problem of the pollution.

      We are going to practice your reading skills. Now, please pay your attention to the list of words on the blackboard.

        Grove - гай                                           tragedy – трагедія

        Pile - купа                                              to praise – хвалити

        Dumper – той, хто смітить

  2. Where did she like to play?

  4. What idea came to her head?

  7. What did rubbish dumper do then?
  8. What can pollution bring us to?

 

IV Finishing the lesson

Summarizing

What have we done at the lesson? People have learned some rules to protect the environment, lets name them.
