«Подорож до Великої Британії»

у 5 класі

Тема: Велика Британія та Україна

Тематика ситуативного спілкування:  Подорож до Великої Британії

Мета уроку:  

•          сприяти розвитку в учнів вміння сприймати на слух інформацію,  узагальнювати та використовувати на практиці отриману інформацію з теми;
•          розвивати навички проєктної діяльності із застосуванням кейс-методу;
•          повторити вивчений лексичний та країнознавчий матеріал з теми «Велика Британія»;
•          розвивати навички роботи в групах.

Очікувані результати на кінець уроку:

•          учні вмітимуть узагальнювати інформацію про Великобританію та презентувати свої проєкти про країну.

Тип уроку: урок розвитку іншомовної комунікативної компетентності із застосуванням кейс-методу (умінь сприймання на слух); розвитку соціокультурної та інформаційно-цифрової компетентності.

Обладнання уроку:  словник, роздатковий матеріал, ілюстративний матеріал, карта Великої Британії, аудіо та відеоматеріали.

Хід уроку

І. Цільовий компонент:

2. Мотивація.

“is   a   London   good   idea   always   ” (Учні розташовують слова у правильному порядку: “London is always a good idea”).

3. Цілепокладання.

Teacher: The topic of our lesson is Great Britain. The best way to know other country is to visit it. So I propose you to make an imaginary tour to Great Britain. During our tour we’ll see new places, learn more about Great Britain, improve our English, develop outlook.

Teacher: By the end of the lesson you will be able:

• to improve English.
• to visit parts of the UK.
• to make mini projects.
• to get nice impressions.

4. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

Teacher: Listen to my sentences, please. Say “Yes” if you agree with me and correct it if you disagree with me. ( учні показують зелену картку, якщо вірно, та червону, якщо не вірно та виправляють речення)

4.     Trafalgar Square is in London.
5.     You don’t want to visit Great Britain. (I want to visit Great Britain.)
6.     There are a lot of places to visit in London.
7.     There are a lot of beautiful parks in London.
8.     Big Ben is in Kyiv. (It is in London)

ІІ. Процесуальний компонент:

1. Актуалізація вивченого матеріалу.

Teacher: So we have only 40 minutes for visiting the UK. What means of transport should we choose? Why? (Expected answer: We should choose a plane, because it is the fastest means of transport).

Teacher: Oh, it’s a message from our travel agent. Our guide has fallen ill, he can’t go with us. What shall we do? I’ve got an idea! We have some information about Great Britain and we know English well enough to be guides ourselves.

You were organized in 2 groups of 8. Each group will get a set of pictures, the UK Information Guide and a fact file. Your task is to represent one part of Great Britain. Teacher: Let’s start our trip on an airplane. During our trip we’ll do some tasks.

England

England is the biggest part of the United Kingdom. Its area is more than 130 thousand square kilometers. The population of England is about 47 million people. English people are very polite. They love their homes, pets and comfort. The language of the country is English. The flower symbol of England is a rose. You start your tour with London, the capital of Great Britain. You can see Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and many other places of interest here.

Scotland

The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh while the largest city is Glasgow.

The population of Scotland is around 5 million. The area is about 78 thousand square kilometers.  The languages of the country are English and Scottish.

This is a land of high mountains and green valleys. The highest mountains are situated in the Highlands. The national dress of Scots is the kilt, which was originally worn by men. It is a skirt with a lot of folds. The Scottish musical instrument is the bagpipe. The flower symbol of Scotland is a thistle.
