Тема уроку: Мандруємо разом. Різні смаки.

Ціль уроку: а) формування лексичних вмінь та навичок читання та 

                          усного мовлення;

                     б) формування навичок аудіювання;

                     в) формування навичок соціального спілкування через     

                         активізацію понять, пов’язаних з їжею;

                     г) формування творчого та критичного мислення учнів через

                         дискусію й презентацію власної думки.

Методичне забезпечення: словники, роздавальні картки, інтелектуальна карта учителя, доповіді про географічне положення країн, картинки

Обладнання: комп’ютер, телевізор,  глобус, «магічний» капелюх

Тип уроку: урок застосування знань, вмінь та навичок.

Навчальні задачі: організувати – фонетичну, лексико-граматичну розминку учнів; усну розминку учнів щодо використання вивченої лексики за темою «Мандруємо разом. Різні смаки» на рівні фрази та речення; удосконалення навичок аудіювання; читання та переклад текстів “Cuisines of Different Countries”; використовування методу «Акваріум»; лексичний практикум з опорою на прочитанні тексти; монологічні висловлювання на основі прочитаного; використовування ігрових моментів впродовж уроку; ознайомлення з інтелект-карткою; усну розминку по використанню вивченого граматичного матеріалу «Розділові питання» та «Невизначені займенники» на рівні фрази та  речення.

Розвиваючі задачі: розвивати – логічне мислення, мовленнєву здогадку, здібність самостійно планувати речової поступок, уяву, слуховий контроль, речову реакцію, довго часову пам'ять, пізнавальну активність.

Виховні задачі: виховувати – увагу, працелюбство, відчуття колективізму, діловитість та організованість, естетичне сприймання світу, уміння працювати у команді.

2. Презентація уроку:

• The topic of today’s lesson is “Let’s Travel Together. Different Countries Different Tastes.” Today at the lesson we’re going to revise the material about travelling and food, and you’ll learn how to behave when you travel to other countries and get some useful information about their traditional food; we shall also revise some grammar, but to be precise, tail-questions and indefinite pronouns. Besides, you will read and discuss some food stories with the help of the “magic” globe and the “magic” hat. (Учитель інформує що урок інтегрований і що буде разом з географією)

I see you are very clear about there are no countries in the world where happiness can be found, but there are a lot of countries where we can meet different people, see new places, conquer the summits, try something new and just explore the world and make the life happy. That’s why I want you to answer some of my questions:

• Do you like travelling?
• Who do you like travelling with?
• What do you do before the travelling?
• What do you like more: travelling or packing? Why?

-O.k. you are very fantastic today. At this time we will watch a short video about some English-speaking countries. Then you’ll have half a minute to get ready for making a short report about … well, I don’t know exactly what country you’re going to speak about. It’s up to Victoria Nickolaevna to decide.

(Використовуємо метод «Акваріуму». Учні об’єналися у чотири групи, які відповідають обраним «чарівним» капелюхом країнам. Учитель запропонував завдання – цікаві різноманітні тексти. Одна з груп сідає посеред класу або на початку середнього ряду в класі, де стоять парти, утворивши внутрішнє коло. Група, що працює, читає текст, перекладає його, обговорює, використовуючи метод дискусії. Інші групи мають тільки слухати, не втручаючись у хід обговорення. Учасники відповідають на питання та вирішують задану проблему. Після обговорення група сідає на свої місця. А учитель ставить до класу запитання чи погоджуються вони з думкою групи та їх дискусією. Всі групи по черзі мають побувати в «Акваріумі» і результати роботи кожної із них мають бути обговорені у класі)

Або спочатку діти розповідають про обрані країни, використовуючи глобус, який світиться. Вони показують на глобусі ту або іншу країну, коротко описують її та надають різні географічні та цікаві факти про країну. В цьому їм допомагає вчитель географії. Перед кожним обговоренням короткий перегляд фільму про цю або іншу країну.

Task 1

(Ukrainian cuisine) Ukrainian cuisine is closely connected to the customs, culture and way of life of the Ukrainian people. Ukrainian cookery has long been noted for its appetizing variety of dishes and it is famous for its quality of flavor. These dishes have been devised from a wide choice of products: poultry, pork, fish, lamb, vegetables, cereals and fruit. Breakfast is a simple meal of bread, butter and, perhaps, soft-boiled eggs. Homemade jam with whole berries in heavy syrup is also eaten. Lunch may consist of a fish dish, a salad or vegetables.

Dinner is the main meal. The most popular Ukrainian dish is borsch. This thick and delicious soup is prepared with a variety of ingredients including meat, beans, vegetables, and even prunes. Different soups are made from available vegetables, such as carrots, cabbage or turnips plus a piece of meat that is removed for serving. It may include some kasha (buckwheat, wheat, millet or pearl barley), cabbage. Desserts are simple, perhaps, small pastries and stewed fruit, kvas (a slightly fermented drink made from white or dark rye bread, cranberries). Kvas is preferred by a great number of Ukrainians.  (English cuisine)Many typical English dishes center on roast meat: beef, pork, lamb, poultry and game. Roast beef is accompanied by roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Mint sauce is usually served with lamb and currant jelly with poultry. Pork is usually complimented by apple sauce. The most famous British takeaway is still the chips and fish. For breakfast most people have cereal or toast and tea or coffee. People have tea with cold milk. Some people prefer instant coffee with hot water. Many visitors to Britain find this coffee disgusting.

Lunch is a quick meal. It’s very light, usually a sandwich and some fruit. People have dinner at 7 or 8 p. m. The evening meal is the main meal of the day. Usually the whole family eats together. Supper is very plain – a sandwich or toast or just some biscuits. Those who haven’t eaten dinner may eat supper at 9 p.m. (Впр.1 с.74)

 (American cuisine) The common dishes of the USA are various in their origin and way of cooking. There’re a wide variety of foods depending upon which type of restaurant you go to. Some American-style restaurants have a typical menu. Appetizers are usually a chip topped with melted cheese, shrimp cocktail, raw vegetables, sandwiches, cheese and crackers. Soups are French onion, chicken and vegetable. Salads are regular, Greek, chicken, Caesar or spinach. Courses are steak, fried chicken, fish, hamburgers, pasta and pizza. Hot and cold sandwiches are combinations of ham, turkey, roast-beef, chicken, tuna or egg salads. Beverages are coffee, tea, soft drinks, mineral water and iced tea. Deserts are cakes, ice-cream, frozen yogurt, fruit, pancakes, French toast and waffles. (Впр.2 с.74)

 (Canadian cuisine) Canada is a country of immigrants. Canadian cuisine is a mix of many cultures. Popular ethnic cuisines include Italian and Chinese ones. In larger communities you’ll likely find Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, German, Middle Eastern and Greek cuisines. Canadians like hamburgers, beer, good wines, chicken wings, different salads, roast chicken, pancakes, sandwiches, stakes, fruit and vegetables. They also like sea-food. They are fond of coffee, fresh sandwiches, soups, iced tea and, of course, potatoes. This national dish combines French fries with cheese curds and gravy. Among national dishes are meat pies, thick pea soup, pickerel fish, potato dumplings, sugar pies, butter tarts and Pacific Salmon. Some ways that salmon can be eaten are bakes, poached, smoked or candied – the latter is considered a real treat. Cooking can be as simple as baking with a simple lemon butter sprinkle.
