Form 8.

Тема: “  Around the city”

Підтема: “Лондон і його визначні місця.”

Мета:

Освітня: сформувати уявлення учнів про столицю Великобританії  поглибити знання учнів про визначні місця Лондона, правила вуличного руху в Україні та Британії. Розвивати кругозір учнів, стимулювати учнів до самостійного пошуку додаткової інформації по темі.

Практична: удосконалити комунікативні здібності учнів, учити застосовувати отримані знання в конкретній ситуації, навчати утворювати ступені порівняння  прикметників. Перевірити рівень знань учнів під час мовлення, аудіювання  та виконання  вправ.

Розвиваюча: розвивати культуру спілкування в ситуації “Як пройти..?” Розвивати уміння порівнювати і узагальнювати матеріал, висловити свою думку англійською мовою.

Виховна: виховувати почуття причетності до світової історії та культури, пошану та інтерес до культури країни, мова якої вивчається.

Виховувати почуття поваги до людей, ввічливості під час спілкування.

Тип уроку: урок застосування знань, навичок і умінь.

 Форма уроку: Урок-подорож.

Форми роботи: Індивідуальна, колективна, письмова, фронтальна.

 Обладнання уроку: підручник, робочий  зошит, ТНЗ: мультимедійний проектор, презентаційний матеріал з теми «Лондон».                                                      

Хід уроку

I .Introduction.

Greeting. Організаційний момент та привітання

Teacher: Good  morning , dear  friends! Let’s greet each other.

Cl. Good morning teacher,

Good morning my friend!

Give me your hand,

Let’s smile and say:

Have a nice day!

Have a nice day,  teacher !

Teacher: I  wish you a nice day too.                                  

2. Aim. Орієнтація, мотивація діяльності.

Teacher: Today we’ll have the last lesson on our topic —Around the City.

We’ll continue to speak about London and its places of interest. We are going  to develop your reading and speaking skills, sing song, watch a computer presentation on the topic and work with cards. So, let’s start our lesson.

But first, I want to ask you why  we need to know this topic?

( to find the way or place; not to be lost; to help other people)     

II. Main part . Закріплення вивченого матеріалу в мовних вправах. Показ слайдов з презентації. Повторення вивченої лексики по темі.

1.    Scrambled Letters

Teacher: Before we continue, let’s remember the words we learnt about town life. We have scrambled letters - put them in the right order and you’ll know some town objects.

Учні виконують вправу в зошитах.

Teacher: Now you can check the words. Who can read them? Have you made any mistakes? Well done.

          2. A crossword puzzle

Teacher: Now, children, let us do a crossword puzzle. Look at the crossword on the screen  and find the words  square, tower, bridge, palace centre, hotel, bank  and the key word of our topic.

           3. Answering  the questions

Teacher: Right you are,  the key word is London.  Now I want to ask you some questions about this city and see what you know about it:

• What is London?
• Where is it situated?
• On what river does London stand?
• What kind  of city is it?

Teacher:   So, London is  great! What  adjectives can we mention  when we speak about this city ? (Учні називають прикметники, які вони асоціюють з Лондоном та його визначними місцями)

Teacher:   What are the degrees of comparison of  the following adjectives:  old, long, big happy, famous, interesting, beautiful

5. Game.  Тренування в читанні назв англійських визначних місць.

Teacher: We go on. Do you know the names of places of interest in London? Now we shall see it. Let’s play a game. Read the first part of the name of the place and elicit the second one.  For example, Hyde… (Park), Tower… (Bridge), Downing… (Street). Who wants to try?

6. Speaking.  Game “Guess the place”

Teacher: Can you recognize London’s places of interest? Look at the blackboard. You can see painted doors. Open them and name the places hidden behind them. Who wants to be the first?

Teacher:  Thank you for your information. Your next task is to match the two halves to make up sentences and translate them into Ukrainian.

Teacher: We are going on our trip.  My dear friends, I ask you to imagine that you are guides. Try to tell  Ukrainian children  about London  and its places of interest.

  Teacher: I see a tall tower. What is it? What do you know about Big Ben?

Teacher: We have finished our trip. I hope it was interesting. Now it is time to have a rest. Let’s listen to the song about Tower Bridge and do some special exercises. Who can show them to us? Children, you know what to do - repeat the movements after your classmate.

Teacher: Look at the map of London. Let’s act the dialogue “How you can get to St. Paul’s Cathedral”

Teacher: And now let’s check up your homework. Your task was to prepare projects “My  way from home to school”  Listen to your projects! Who wants to be the first?
