Lesson 1

Topic: BRITISH FOOD: MEALS AND TRADITIONAL DISHES

Objectives:

to introduce and practice the new topic; to revise previously taught vocabulary on the topic;

to improve students’ reading, listening and speaking skills;

to develop students’ communicative competence;

to broaden student’s outlook; to activate thinking and imagination;

to motivate the students for the learning activity;

to encourage understanding and tolerance to others;

to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the virtual class;

to develop a sense of respect to others.

Outcomes

By the end of the lesson students will be able:

to operate the words of the topic in speech;

to express their personal attitude to the healthy style of eating;

to discuss the questions about meals and Christmas pudding in Britain.
