ОСНОВНА ЧАСТИНА УРОКУ
T. Ukrainians are known for their hospitality. It is a traditional thing that the Ukrainians enjoy cooking. The nature of Ukraine is very rich in soil which gives a chance to grow good crops. The fields of our country are always busy with vegetables.
What vegetables do you know which grow in Ukraine? Cabbage, beets, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, onions. That allows cook different dishes.
The gardens are full of fruit (apples, pears, plums and grapes). The desserts are delicious. The Ukrainian cuisine is very varied. The range of dishes impresses any tourist coming to any part of Ukraine.
If you were abroad at presentation of Ukrainian cuisine what dishes would you represent? (borshch, varenyky, mlyntsi(filled pancakes), holubtsi, сало(lard), pumpkin porridge, dyruny, pyrogy, kutia, Chicken Kyiv, uzvar). Those who tasted Ukrainian food try to get recipes of their favorite dishes. Ukrainians like to invite guests to their homes.
I propose to watch a film clip and then try to say:
So, let's design our Ukrainian restaurant. Imagine that you have a chance to open the Ukrainian restaurant and you are a future director of it. What does you restaurant look like? What attracts people to visit your restaurant? What makes your restaurant attractive? What is its name?
Possible answers:
Let's talk about uniform of waitress. What does it look like?
It must be like Ukrainian costume (an embroidered blouse, shoes, an apron, skirt belt, braid, beads. Usually they are red.).
We have talked about the name of the restaurant, design, staff, waitress uniform of our future restaurant. Let's think over our menu. What can it be? I will read the ingredients, try to guess what dish it is.
pastry + potatoes = varenyky
pumpkin + rice + milk = pumpkin porridge
There is one problem. There is a newcomer waiter and he doesn't know how to serve the table. Let's teach him. There is a napkin, a salad plate, a bread plate, a dinner plate, a soup bowl, a cup, a saucer, a fork, a knife, a teaspoon, a tablespoon, a sugar basin, a salt cellar and a pepper-box.
Excuse me, Where does... go?
It goes to the right of the dinner plate.
It goes to the left / between / on...
Now we are in a restaurant. I'm going to give you a task.
Match the questions and responses and act out the dialogue in pairs.
