Stick to the highest values of    life

            Love is above all

 Objectives:

• to develop students’ speaking skills;
• to extend students’ active vocabulary;
• to stimulate students’ creative and logical thinking;
• to motivate students to discuss their problems values of life; the greatest value – love;
• to teach pupils to stick to the high values of life, to love native land.

Equipment: audio-records, tables,  posters, video, computer, handouts.

   Motto:     My duty is to teach children not only the subject but form the   personalities of high moral values

                                             Procedure.

I .Preliminaries.  Greeting. Prayer :’’Our Father’’

     We can speak about the personality only then, when we learn about her deeds and her moral values.  So, what are they these moral values? What is life? What do we live for?  People   have been asking these questions since times immemorial and each generation tries to find the keys to them. Now have round table talk.

     II. Warm up. What are your values of life?

       The students’ speech.

      P.1: All of us have different values of life. Mine are love, happiness, health and friendship I cannot say what is more important and what is less. They are correlated: one cannot exist without the other. You cannot be happy without love – be it love of a person, parents, friends or Motherland. Love makes our life complete and full of sense.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 P.2: It should be pointed out that love adds happiness and health. Good health is great blessing. Lack of health deprives our life of its vividness “Good health is above wealth” says an English proverb. Even having money you cannot buy it. That’s why people must do everything possible to be healthy.

 P.3: None will deny that happiness is the value of life.  I cannot claim that I know what happiness is. All I can tell you is that when you are happy you feel it with all your heart. When you are happy you always seem to lack worlds. You are not walking – you are flying, you are like the sun, the sky, the flowers.

 P. 4: You are quite right. The trees are greener, the stars shine brighter, the moon is kinder. You feel like everything goes right as it should be if you are happy.

 P.5: To my mind we are happy when we love, are kind and tolerant to people around us, make other happy and have something to give them.

 P.6:  It’s common knowledge that we are happy when we have beautiful friends. It is necessary to say that it is impossible to live without friends. The more friends we have the safer and happier we are. No wonder, the friends always help us, they support us, give good advice.

 P.7: I consider that real friendship is possible only when people respect and trust each other, help each other in trouble, and share their joys and sorrows. It is not in vain that English people say: “A good friend is the sun in winter”, “A friend in need is a friend indeed”.

P.8: Speaking about values of life, I’d like to mention that we cannot buy them for money. You will probably ask me: “Don’t you need money at all?” Well, I need it only to buy clothes, food and lead a decent life. But we shouldn’t make money the object of our adoration. We cannot buy with it such eternal things as love, happiness, success. You cannot make other people love, respect with the help of money.

P.9: I’m sure that the most important thing to us is to find real values of life while being young and stick to them throughout our lives.

Experts:

-Nobody on earth is perfect, we are no exception. We’re just human beings with many drawbacks, faults and we must try to get rid of them.

-We must fight against cruelty and violence. We should forget rude words, avoid gossiping, judging, enviousness and jealousy.

-Everybody must have a strong will and desire to improve himself, try to    become better. May success succeed you in this.

       Look at this pyramid of values. As you can see the value love is on the top. So it is the greatest one.

III. Group work. Vocabulary

Divide the words of love into three groups according

to the parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, verbs.

 Beauty , attractive, cherish, happiness, lovely ,

admire, faith, look forward to, sincere, bliss,

honest, devotion , adore, joyfulness, expect,

stunning, optimist,  await, attractiveness, reliance, real, anticipate, belief, faithfulness.

  IV.“Microphone”     What is love?

     Love can be defined as a strong feeling of   personal attachment between friends and family members .It can be defined as tender affection shared between  people

 P1: In my opinion to live means to love and to love means eternal sacrifice.

 P2: Love is a stream of living water that I drink every day and need it always.

 P3: Love is the sun that gives me light on my daily road. 

 P4:Love is the wind that gives me power to sail along the river of life.

 P5: I suppose that it is not easy to love. To love means to unite when the whole world splits into thousand parts.

 P7: In love one gives hand to another.

 P8: In love man marries a woman and brings up children. In love people make their homes.

 P9:In love people are beautiful. I am sure. They change and make other happy.

 P10: Love is the beginning and the end, it’s life itself.

 V. God is love

Teacher: Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another . We must treat other people as we want to be treated ourselves. We should live according God’s commandments. Let us ask God to help us in our life

VI. Love makes friendship. Group work. Match the parts of the  proverbs.

     A friend is a person, who shares,

    And gives a helping hand.

                         -  A friend in need is a friend indeed.

                            -  A good friend is as the sun in winter.

                             -   False friends are worse than open enemies.

                              -   A friend to all is a friend of none.

                              -  The friends you choose help you win or loose.

    Love is the highest value in the family. It should be cared, cherished, grown     carefully  and with patience.  Our family is our home.

Everybody of us should understand the importance of getting on well with the members of the family, because they are the closest people who love you, care about you and help you with different problems you have. VIII. At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet

          A contest of poems:” Love you dear Motherland”

      P1:  Love you dear Motherland,

            Love it with your whole heart,

           Love Ukraine when the days are happy,

           Love when the days are dark,

           Cherish your mother tongue,

           Cherish your family root,

            Never stop thinking of your parents

           And make their life good

 

    P2: “Love Ukraine, like sun that you love

           Like wind, like grass, and like water,

           Whenever you're happy, in moments of gladness,

          At times of trouble, do love.

   P3:  Blue sky and yellow field of grain

            Is on the flag of my Ukraine.

         It’s emblem speaks to all the world

         With Freedom – such a lovely word.

  P4:  Bread-salt will give to a friendly guest

         Ukrainian people without request.

        They work and sing the song of praise

        To God  who’s able from ash to raise.

  P5:  Ukraine rejoices in the Lord

        Reviving  from His mighty

We must remember the heroes of Nebesna Sotnya and all soldiers who gave their lives for our native land.

We ask Gog to help us in our struggle for peace and independence

Love Ukraine with all your heart. Let there always be peace and friendship on our land, in our Ukraine

   All people of good will: let us be united in common prayer for peace!

X. Team work .Without love the world itself would not survive 

Love conquers all !

When you are silent- be silent with love.

When you speak – speak with love.

When you correct – correct with love.

Have always the root of love deep in your heart.

May good deeds grow from that  root.
