Procedure

  1. Introduction. Greeting. Aim.

Good morning, children! Sit down, please. Today we have a lesson which is not quit ordinary. We’ll listen to the English version of song “Amar pelos dois” (“Love for the both of us”) by Salvador Vilar Braamcamp Sobral, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. As for our aims, let’s define them together. (The aims are displayed on the screen, the teacher and the students discuss them)

  1.  MAIN PART

 Pre-story:

Salvador Vilar Braamcamp Sobral is a Portuguese singer. He was born in Lisbon and has lived there most of his life. At the age of ten he participated in the program Bravo Bravissimo. Salvador Sobral studied Psychology at the institute in Lisbon. He spent time in Mallorca where he started singing in bars. He speaks five languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English, a little Italian and Catalan. After he left the Psychology program, he applied to a musical school in Barcelona, where he finished his studies in 2014. In 2017 Sobral was confirmed to be represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Amar pelos dois” (English version “Love for the both of us”), written and composed by his sister Luisa Sobral.

A song “Love for the both of us”

If one day someone asks about me

Say that I lived just to love you

Before you, I only existed

Tired and without a thing to offer

My dear, listen to my prayers

I ask you to come back, that you come back to love me

I know we can't love alone

Maybe little by little you can learn again

My dear, listen to my prayers

I ask you to come back, that you come back to love me

I know we can't love alone

Maybe little by little you can learn again

If your heart doesn't wish to do so

To feel the passion, if it doesn't want to suffer

Without making plans about what will happen

My Heart can love for the both of us
