The aim of the study is to analyse the peculiarities of using colour idioms everyday in English, which in turn will allow them to be used for a more detailed description and conveying their thoughts. The object of the study is the use of colour idioms in everyday life to enchance the description of impressions of what one sees or hears. The subject of the study is the methods and means of correct use of idiomatic expressions that can be used without hesitation in communication or correspondence with friends.

Undoubtedly, each language will have a different psychological interpretation of colours, which is reflected in the translation of phraseological units. Differences in the perception of the environment by a particular people will affect the number of phrases with the same colour in different languages.
