1  Choose the correct options to complete the text.

One day Robert ⁰ has walked / was walking / walked home from school when he

2.  Complete the dialogue. Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form.

A:  Do you speak French?

B:  Yes, I ² _______________________ (start) learning it three years ago. How about you?

B:  By the way where’s your sister?

3. Past Perfect. Complete the dialogue. Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form.

B:  Great, thanks. Unfortunately they

B:  The bus ⁵ ___________________ (break) down on the way there. 

A:  Pity. That’s always the best part because you get to see the animals all so well when they feed.

B:  I ⁶ ___________________ (see) a lot of animals so it’ was okay, but unfortunately they
⁷ ___________________ (just/send) the tigers to another park for six months while they’re building a bigger home for them.

A:  Nice for the tigers, but a pity you didn’t see them.

B:  Yes, it was really.
