Phrasal verbs: break, give

Give up. To stop doing something, often because it is difficult or unhealthy. He gave up smoking last year. (He stopped smoking.)

Give out. To distribute something to a group of people. Tom gave out leaflets after school.

Give away. To give something to someone for free. She gave away her old clothes to charity.

Give in To stop resisting and accept defeat or agree to something you were refusing before. After hours of arguing, he finally gave in and apologized.

give back. To return something to its owner. Example: "I need to give back the book I borrowed from Sarah."

Break down: To stop functioning (usually referring to machines or vehicles). Example: "The car broke down on the way to the party."

Break into: To enter something forcefully, often used in the context of breaking into a building or space illegally. Example: "The burglars broke into the house last night."

Break up: To end a relationship or partnership. Example: "They decided to break up after five years of dating."

Break out: To start suddenly, often used for things like fires, diseases, or conflicts. Example: "A fire broke out in the kitchen."
