Andrew. Glad to see you, Ed! Finally, you arrived.
Ed. Hi, buddy! I haven’t seen you for ages!
Andrew. Let me introduce our landlady, Mrs. Hunt.
Mrs. Hunt. Welcome, Ed! Pleased to meet you.
Ed. Pleased to meet you too, Mrs. Hunt.
Mrs. Hun t. Come in, please. Let me show you the room.
Ed. Thanks a lot.
Mrs. Hunt. I’m sure, your friend told you about my rules. First, I’d like to know your full name. I need to write down it in my registration book.
Ed. Edward Otto Heinz.
M rs. Hunt. How interesting! Are you German?
E d. No, my father is. But my Mom’s Irish.
Mrs. Hunt. Are you a student?
Ed. Oh, yes, Mrs. Hunt. We are going to spend three weeks in a summer language school.
Mrs. Hun t. When will your family arrive?
Ed. They won’t plan this summer. Though my married sister lives here, my parents and my Grandpa live in Germany.
Mrs. Hun t. And you live in Germany, too?
Ed. Yes, I live there last ten years. I have been studying in a high school in the small town of Cottbus, in the east-south of Germany. But I was born in Belfast and lived there in my childhood.
Mrs. Hunt. Ten years! But how old you are?
Ed. I was born in 2001, January 11.
Mrs. Hunt. You look like a nice young man, my dear! Suppose you are a good student, too.
Ed. Thank you, Mrs. Hunt. I’m really not a bad student. Last year I’ve got the IT school certificate, because I’d like to enter the University of Oxford and work in the branch of space; but I’m not very good in English.
Andrew. My friend’s decent. Although his English is not perfect, his achievements in Math and Physics are excellent. He’s also a school winner in swimming and a footballer of the school team. But he isn’t a bookworm, he’s sociable and friendly, and a half of our mates are his friends.
Mrs. Hunt. Well, you can improve your English, without doubt. Besides, you can continue you training in sports.
Ed. Pleased to hear. Thank you.

Mark. Lisa! You left the light on in the bathroom again!
Lisa. Sorry, I’ve forgotten.
Mark. You’ve forgotten! You never think about turning off the tap while brushing your teeth.
Lisa. I need much more water than you!
Mark. It’s quite absurdly. Do you have more teeth than me? Then, you always bring too many plastic bottles from the supermarket. And never puts empty ones into the litterbin.
Lisa. Don’t be angry, Mark! I’ll not be any more.
Mark. I’ve heard it a dozen of times! But you continue to take a bath instead of shower and you always have excuses.
Lisa. I like to swim!
Mark. In a bath?! And you again turn up heating. It’s warm outside now. By the way, don’t forget to switch off the TV, when you go to your club.
