OBJECTIVES:

-       developing students’ speech habits;

-       improving skills in using vocabulary and grammar;

-       teaching students to communicate and enrich their knowledge and outlook by means of English;

-       developing social skills by solving other people’s problems;

-       enhancing listening skills by watching an authentic video;

-       using IT technologies for learning English;

LEARNING OUTCOMES:  by the end of the lesson learners will be able to

-       make up dialogues;

-       work in pairs;

-       use new vocabulary in speech;

-       work on the online platforms TESTENGLISH;  BRITISH COUNCIL;

-       elicit the necessary information;

-       evaluate personal progress;

-       use Conditional 1,2 and Future Clauses;

-       use imagination and critical thinking;

-       give definitions to words;

MATERIALS:  a video, an online task, a picture, a table, a presentation

                                                          PROCEDURE

I INTRODUCTION

1. Describing a picture. Pupils describe the situation, identify the problem and offer their own solutions to the problem. They are supposed to use the following expressions.

II VOCABULARY PRACTICE

1. Giving definitions to the words:

Workplace, a child-minding centre, to retire, promotion.

2. Translating sentences:

Вона отримає підвищення наступного місяця.

Він не збирається змінювати місце роботи.

Моя сестра нещодавно зайнялась новим хобі.

Дік почувається нещасним, коли не в змозі вирішити проблеми у школі.

Якби б я був на твоєму місці, я б зайнявся волонтерською роботою.
