Тема: Holidays of the USA and the UK
Цілі заходу:
Практична: Закріпити вживання вже відомого лексичного матеріалу, удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання, діалогічного і монологічного мовлення
Загальноосвітня: Поглибити лексичний запас учнів.
Розвиваюча: розвивати мовну здогадку та готовність до участі в іншомовному спілкуванні, удосконалити мовні здібності, розвивати кмітливість учнів.
Виховна: виховувати в учнів культуру спілкування, формувати уважність та активність учнів.
Обладнання: комп’ютер, дошка, проектор, колонки, папір. Роздруківки з завданням, відеоролики, фільми
Procedure.
Compere 1: Dear guests, teachers and students! We are glad to greet you here! We have gathered together to hold a “Brain Ring” contest.
Compere 2: The subject of our today’s game is Holidays of the USA and the UK . Two teams are going to compete today. And at the end of our contest we will find out which team knows holidays and traditions better!
Compere 1: Of course, you know much about these countries from books, newspapers and TV programs. Your teachers told you much about it. But today we’ll get some more information about holidays, culture and historical events. We wish you to have a nice time at our “Brain Ring” contest!
Compere 2: You’ll be given different tasks concerning the topic we were supposed to acquaint with during our previous practical lessons. But first of all let us introduce our two teams.
Compere 1: Each team will have its own colour. We give you ribbons and, please, put it on your arms or heads! So, teams have introduced themselves and now we will have the 1 Round, which is called “Quiz. What do you know about British and American holidays?”
Round 1. “Quiz. What do you know about British and American holidays?”
Compere 2: Your task is to answer the questions about the holidays in the USA and the United Kingdom. Don’t cry out the answers or they wouldn’t be counted. Raise your hand to give the correct answer. If your answer is correct the team will get one point. After listening to the question the members of the team can consult with each other for 30 sec.
Round 2. “Crossword. Hidden Holiday”. (12)
Compere 1: Ok, now we will have the Round № 2, which is called “Crossword. Hidden Holiday”. You have two minutes to look through this crossword and then you are to find as many holidays as you can, name them and cross the on the board.
