Позакласний захід  до дня землі “ Earth day – every day”.

Objectives:

to develop pupils’ thinking;

to discuss the problem;

to enrich pupils’ outlook;

to form pupils’ feeling of respect, love, responsibility for our planet.

 

- Good morning, dear friends. I am glad to see you in our class and I wish you health and happiness , kindness and peace. Today is a special day. Today is the Earth Day. And It is celebrated by the people all over the world on 22^nd of April , on Sunday.

 - You can see the Earth day flag.

-  According to the legend this symbol we created as a combination of the letters e and  o from the words environment and organism. This flag was also based on the Stars and Stripes of US flag. Green was substituted in place of blue and red. The founder of Earth day was an American senator Gaylord Nelsonwho was strongly concerned with the Earth`s welfare and wanted to do something about it.

- And answer the questions:

• How many zones are there?
• Could you name them?
•  You can see that each zone has some problems. What are they?

Pupils` answer.

• We destroy more than 36 football fields of forests every minutes and throw away thousands of trees in paper and card every day.
• As for the oceans?
• A lot of rubbish we produce on land pollutes the oceans.
• The Arctic?
• The fuel we use for energy makes the climate warmer . The land disappears.
• The river zones?
• Farms and factories pollute the rivers with pesticides and chemicals.

 

Teacher:

• I hope it`s clear for you if we respect our nature we will live a long and healthy life.

 

• And now? Let`s remember about three magic words which help to save our planet Earth and make all living things being happier.
