Judo

Judo - literally "Soft Way"A Japanese martial art, philosophy, and unarmed combat sport created in the late nineteenth century on the basis of jujitsu by the Japanese martial artist Jigoro Kano, who also formulated the basic principles and rules of training and competition.

A little history. The date of birth of judo is the day when Kano founded the first Kodokan Judo School (translated as "Institute for the Study of the Way") in 1882.

Specificity of judo. Unlike boxing, karate and other martial arts styles, judo is based on throws, painful techniques, holds and chokes, both in the stance and on the ground. Judo differs from other types of wrestling (Greco-Roman, freestyle) in that it uses less physical force when performing techniques and a diverse selection of permitted technical actions. The basic principle of judo is to use the opponent's strength ("give in to win").

Judo is an Olympic sport. The International Judo Federation (IJF) is responsible for the development of sport judo in the world. In total, about 28 million people are involved in judo in the world, including 8 million in Japan. According to the International Amateur Wrestling Federation, judo, along with Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling and sambo, is one of the four most popular sports in the world. My favorite sport is gymnastics Gymnastics is a system of physical exercises that developed in Ancient Greece many centuries before our era. The goal of gymnastics was general physical development and self-improvement.

Basic gymnastics (gymnastics for everyone)This is a relatively independent type of gymnastics used in the physical education of people of different ages. It has an educational and developmental value, which is explained by the effect of exercises on all functions of the human body.

Sports instrumental gymnastics. The physical education program is represented by free exercises and individual exercises on sports equipment. This is aesthetic education, education of speed, endurance, flexibility, dexterity, expressiveness of movements.

Gymnastics in Ukraine. Ukraine belongs to the leading gymnastic countries of the world. The greatest gymnast of all time, Larisa Latynina, was born in Kherson and trained in Kyiv. The most prominent Ukrainian gymnast since independence is Liliya Podkopaeva, Olympic champion of Atlanta.
