Agatha Christie (1890 - 1976)She was a famous detective story writer and the author of 66 detective novels. Have you heard of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple?

Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) He was a famous Scottish historian, novelist, poet and playwright. Have you read his “Ivanhoe”?

William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)The first author we think of when we start speaking of English Literature. His plays and poems are still popular. You know his Romeo and Juliet. Other plays are “Othello”, “Hamlet”, “King Lear”

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 -1930)A british writer and physician, the creator of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson and their fantastic detective investigations. He is also the author of science fiction novel “The Lost World”

Lewis Carroll (1832 - 1898) Lewis Carroll is a pen name of Charles Dodgson, the man who wrote such famous books for children as “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass”. He was a wonderful children’s writer who could enter the world of children’s imagination.
