Do you know that… The name “Television” comes from the Greek word meaning “far” and the Latin word meaning “to see”. So it means to see far. First TV sets were in black and white.

TELEVISION Affects our daily life in a way that no other media can Is an immense source of information on several subjects Has an educational influence on people, showing problems and their solutions, promoting good social behaviour

The main aims: to inform people; to educate people, giving information and promoting good social behaviour; to entertain people

Researches show that the children glued to the sets for more than 10 hours each week are more likely to be overweight, aggressive, and slower to learn in school.

To sum everything up I want to say As the television is a main source of information and entertainment – it develops our interests, characters and moulds our opinions. So if we choose what is interesting and really worth seeing for us, we will profit from the television in the best way.
