                         «Smart Junior 4»

розроблено вчителем англійської мови

Тheme: Fairy Tales.

Objectives: by the end of the lesson Ss will learn to ask and answer about                                    possession.

Aims: - learn Ss to use possessive   ‘s ;

      -   Develop reading and speaking skills;

Materials: flashcards, cards with the texts, computer.

 

Procedure

1 Warm up:

Show Ss the flashcards with the words: shoes, boots, nose, dress, tail.

Ask Ss to repeat the words after the teacher several times. Then, play the game “What is missing?”

2 Pre-reading:

There are flashcards with pictures and the words: Rapunzel, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Puss in Boots and The Little Mermaid. Ss repeat the names after the teacher and then match the names with the pictures.

3 Reading the texts.

Ss read the text and match texts to the pictures and names. The  teacher sets the time limit. Then, checks answers with the class.

A: He is a cat. He has got two big, black boots. The boots are funny.

 

B: She has got a long tail. Her house is in the sea.

 

C: She has got fair hair. Her hair is very long. It’s beautiful!

 

 

D: She is very beautiful! Her dress is blue and her shoes are silver.

 

E: He is a boy, he isn’t a toy! His nose is very long!

 

2 Match the names with the pictures:

Rapunzel- ___

Сinderella  ___

The Little Mermaid __

Pinocchio ___

Puss in Boots ___

 

4 After-reading:

The teacher asks some comprehension questions:

What colour is Cinderella’s dress? What colour hair has Rapunzel got?

Is Pinocchio’s nose long or short? What colour are the cat’s boots?

Has The Little Mermaid got a tail or wings?

5 Possessions.

The teacher writes on the board:

Cinderella’s dress is blue.

The teacher highlights  ‘s and explains: we use ‘s when we say whose this is.

Whose dress is this? - It’s Cinderella’s.

Whose boots are these? – They are the cat’s.

Whose house is this? – It’s The Little Mermaid’s.

6 Ss  work in pairs and do ex.2p.17. They ask and answer questions.

Some learners go to the board and write answers on the board.

7 Homework: WB p.13 ex.4,5
