Objectives: revise the vocabulary from the previous lessons,
to present and practice vocabulary on the topic,
develop listening and speaking skills,
to train pupils in group and pair activities.
Outcomes:by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to use words for family members, state the names of his or her family members, ask andanswer the question“Who is this ?…”
Vocabulary: a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a family, a baby.
Grammar items: question: Who is this ?…This is a (my ...)
Materials to be used :Interactive board, handouts,PowerPoint presentation and flashcards, videos
Procedure
I. Introduction
1. Greeting. ( slide 4)
T: Good morning everybody!Welcome to our lesson!
P: Good morning, teacher.
2. Warming up ( slide 5 )
1)Revision of the previous vocabulary
T :Let us revise the vocabulary from the previous lessons:
T: How are you?
P: I am fine/happy/OK/sad.
2) “Hello” song (slide 6)
T: Listen and sing along.
3) Phonetic drill(slide 7)
T:It is time to practice some sounds. Listen attentively and repeat after me
[f]- father, family, fluffy
[k]-kite, car, bike
[ð ] – father, mother, brother, this
II.The main part of the lesson
2) Presentation of new grammar items.
T:Listen and repeat
Who is this? – This is a…..Repeat after me “This is a father”( slide 15)
Practice of new material
1)Making up dialogues, using Who is this? – This is a…..(slide 16)
T: Now, you will work in pairs. One pupil asks the question “Who is this?” pointing to the person in the picture, and the other one answers “This is a ……” (flashcards)
Pupils work in pairs. Teacher monitors their speaking accuracy.
P1 : Who is this?
P2: This is a sister.
Etc.
2) Relaxation (slide 17)
Fantastic! I think it′s time to relax. Do you agree with me?Stand up, please! Let’s have fun!
T: Let’s watch a video, sing a song and do the moves.-

3. Application of new material:
1)Game “Who is missing?”(slide 19)
T: And now we are going to play the game “Who is missing?”

2)Singing a song “ Finger Family” (slides 20-22)
a) Pre-listening activity
Game “Wiggling the family member”
Teacher gives pupils finger puppets and ask them wiggle the family member, they hear.
T: Please, wiggle the sister/ father/ mother/ baby/ brother.
b) While-listening activity
T: Watch the video, sing along and wiggle the correct puppet for each family member.
c) Post-listening activity
Role-play “Funny finger conversation”
Teacherholds up one finger and get the other pupil to hold up one finger and they have a short talk. Then pupils work in pairs, making up dialogues like in the example.
T: Hello, sister.
P1: Hello, brother.
T: How are you?
P1: I'm fine, thank you.How are you?
T: I'm fine, thank you. See you soon.
P1: See you soon.

Reserve activities:
1) Teacher gives pupils handouts where they have to trace the family members and match the words with the pictures.
2) Individual work. The teacher gives students a paper and asks them to draw and introduce their families.
