Lesson 1. Delicious!

PROCEDURE
WARM-UP
We are going to start working with new module “Nice and tasty”. In this module you will learn how to talk about food preferences; to order food; to offer something; to accept and refuse an offer; to ask and answer about quantity; to write about your eating habits.
The title of our today’s lesson is “Delicious!”. The adjective delicious is synonymous with tasty and is used to show that you really like what you are eating.
Think of any food you know in English and say it in turns. Other students should exclaim “Delicious! if they like it.

D: Fruit salad? Yuck!
M: No, no, you must try it!
D: OK, have we got everything?
M: I think so. We’ve got some bananas and an apple. There are also some cherries and strawberries in the fridge.
D: I don’t like apples very much.
M: Oh OK. Do you like oranges?
D: Yeah.
M: Great. Now, let’s cut the fruit.
Five minutes later…
D: What do we need?
M: Some yoghurt. Here, put some on the top of the fruit salad and it’s ready! Have some.
D: Are you sure?
M: Yeah, trust me.
D: Yuck! It’s horrible.
M: Let me try … Mmmm, yummy, it’s quite tasty.
D: I don’t think so. Can I make my fruit salad now? Some fruit and a lot of ice cream!
Vocabulary, structures and function presentation in the context of a dialogue.
Yuck is used to express disgust.
Mmmm and Yummy are used to show that we like something and we think it’s delicious.
