Secondary school.  Theme : Nature.

Aims: To revise and consolidate vocabulary on theme Nature. Develop all kinds of speaking activities (speaking, listening, reading writing).

Materials: flashcards, books, magic box.

Lesson plan

I)Warming up:  Sit pupils in a circle. Pass a ball to a pupil sitting next to you, saying “Good morning! How are you today?  - I’m fine, thank you.” continue the activity until everybody asks and answers in a circle. A) Poem.

I like summer, I like spring.

I like winter, I like fall.

Summer, winter, spring and fall

I like all the seasons.

B) Teacher asks pupils. What season is it now? What day is it today? What month is it now? What’s your favorite season?

There are flashcards with the words on the board, pupils need to put them in the correct order and answer the question.

C)Teacher reads the sentences, the children guess the season of the year.

1)     It’s hot. The Sun shines brightly. I can swim.

2)     It’s rainy, it’s windy. I must stay at home.

3)     It’s warm, the leaves on the trees are green.  I can play football after school.

4)     It’s cold, it’s snowy. I can ski and sledge.

II)     Teacher puts the MAGIC BOX in front of the children.  There are flashcards with the words on topic NATURE in it. Pupils one by one hands out a word out of the MAGIC BOX, learnt at the previous lesson, reads it and puts it up in the correct column on the board.

III)   Do “Exercise Routine” activity.

Teacher says the following and has the students follow the lead:

“stand up”, “hands up/down”, “Jump”, “Run/Stop”, “Turn around”, “Stop”, “Sit down”. Teacher can introduce other commands or recite any poem with showing the words they recite.

IV)  Find the words in the wordsnail.

You can see trees, flowers and grass in the parks and gardens.

There are big forests and high mountains on our planet.
