Підтема: « Визначні місця Великобританії» (9 кл.)

Мета:      о   Практикувати учнів у всіх видах мовленнєвої діяльності (аудіюванні, читанні,письмі та усному мовленні) з теми « Визначні місця Великобританії».

 Повторити правила вимови звуків [æ][е]                      

о   Практикувати учнів у вживанні герундія.

о   Формувати комунікативні та інтелектуальні здібності, розвивати пам'ять, логічне

мислення, догадку,розширювати кругозір учнів, розвивати інтерес до культури країни, мова якої вивчається.                               

о   Виховувати культуру спілкування, інтерес до країни, мова якої вивчається

Тип уроку: комбінований

Обладнання: Підручник, роздатковий матеріал, магнітофон, аудіозапис,карта, ілюстративний матеріал з видами визначних місць Великобританії

Хід уроку. 1. Привітання.

2. Підготовка то сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1.   Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.    We've got an unusual lesson today- Britain sightseeing tour. Would you like to be a participant of a tourist group inside the comfortable plane? O.K. We are going to sightseeing and learn a lot of interesting things. Today at the lesson we are going to ask each other questions, to listen to each other very attentively, correct mistakes, do different kinds of grammar, and speak perfect English. And at the end of the lesson you are going to get good and excellent marks. As you know there is a pilot and stewardess in each plane. So we also have them. Here they are.

Pilot: Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I wish you a pleasant flight.

Stewardess: Let me introduce myself. I'm Flint, a stewardess. Welcome to our plane. British airways wish you a pleasant flight.

2. Уведення  в іншомовну атмосферу. 1.   Фонетична розминка. Звуки [æ][е]                                            So, if we go to Great Britain we should have a perfect pronunciation. Pay attention to the English  sounds [æ][е] Look at the blackboard there are few words here. Place them to the right column.

Мовна розминка. (Робота в режимі Т—>С1) So, now I’d  like to check out what do you know about the country we are going to. Please answer my questions.

1.   What is the official name of the country?

2.   How many parts does Great Britain consist of? What are they?

3.   What is the capital of Scotland, Wels, Northern Ireland? What can you tell about them?

T: Good for you Oh, what's the noise? Tss. I hear our passengers. They are speaking about something. Let's listen to them.

Tourist 1. Is this your first visit to England?

Tourist 2. No, it isn't. I was in England several years ago. And what about you?

 Tourist 1. Oh, it's my first visit. England is the country of my dream. By the way, what is the weather like in Britain today?

 Tourist 2. The weather is fine today.

Tourist 1. You see, the weather is changeable in Britain. English people say: "We have no climate, we have only the weather".

Stewardess : Ladies and gentlemen! Look out of the window we are flying above the biggest cities of Britain.       

1. Pre-listening activities. Зняття лексичних труднощів.We have already mention some facts about Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburg. What others biggest cities of this country do you know?

 Oh. Look here. Now we are going to listen to the text about Britain. While listen you'll come across  many names of the cities. Look at the blackboard and pronounce them after me.

        2. While listening activities. Now we are going to listen to the text. Your task will be to choose the right answer.

Complete the sentences choosing right answers.

4. Post listening activities. A) Dialogue. Listen to the text once more and your task will be to make up your own dialogues according to the content.   T.: I see that you've understood the text.

Pilot: Attention! Attention! We have got some problems and we have to land for some hours.

2. Reading. We have a good chance to make an excursion.

1. Pre-reading activities. T. look at the blackboard. There is a quotation here.

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life" (Dr. Johnson)      Are you agree with it?

P.: That's clear. Because there is so much to see in London and I believe that even Londoners can find new places of interest.

T.: Now I'd like you working in groups. Open your books at the page 44 Ex. 1 Word list.

T.: Here you can see new words. Let's read them.

2. While reading activities. While reading the text you should do the tasks.

a)   Translate the sentences. Britain is rich in its historic places which link the present with the past. They range from magnificent National Gallery to Old St Thomas' Operating Theatre, and from ancient Charterhouse to modern Canary Wharf.

b)   Find words in the text that have a similar meaning to the following.

1.   Ancient-                2.   The oldest things-    Church-    Cardinal-  

c)   Complete the sentences.                        1)   Cambridge and Oxford Universities are ...

2)   Stonehenge is a... built by ...

3)   Canterbury Cathedral is the ..., head of the Church of England.

3. Post reading activities. Ask the questions.

Each groups should ask as many questions to get more information about the text as you can. You can use ex. 2 p.44

The questions are:

1)  How many attractions are there in top?

2)   Where should people start their London sightseeing tour?

3)   What is the oldest part of London?...                                                          

3. Writing. So, How many places of interest are worth seeing in London?   What grammar form do you use in this sentence?            What is the Gerund?
