“Sаint Valentine’s Day”

 

 

 

 

 

Мета: розвивати кругозір учнів, розвивати вміння та навички виразного мовлення та читання, активізувати раніше вивчені Л.О. та структури в мовленні учнів.

Обладнання: плакати, слогани, стін-газети, картки з завданнями, мультимедіа, презентація

 

 

 

 Procedure.

Виступ 2 класу пісня.

Під музику виходять 2 ведучі.

В1: : A great hello to everybody! You know that the 14^th of February is a special day and for a lot of people this date is connected with a holiday of sweethearts, people who care about each other, who want to show love and admiration to their friends.

 B2: On this day people send greetings to their sweethearts, friends and members of their families. Many valentines have romantic verses and are richly decorated. Many say "Be my valentine."

  В1: This holiday is a festival of romance and affection. St. Valentine’s Day is a day to share loving feelings with friends and family.

 

B1:.There are many different legends about celebrations this holiday.

 

B2: No one really knows the actual origin of Saint Valentine’s Day.

 

B2: Let’s listen to the most famous legends.

 

Legend 1.

 The legend of St.Valentine day begins with the Roman Emperor Claudius the second, who needed soldiers, he made a law against marriage. Claudius believed that single young men made better soldiers than married   men. A kind priest, Valentine by name, saw the love of young couples, and married them secretly against the law. But Valentine was discovered and condemned to death.

Давня легенда розповідає, про часи правління Римського Імператора Клавдія ІІ. Імператору  потрібні були солдати для війн, а хорошими солдатами на його думку, могли бути лише неодружені чоловіки,  тому він видав наказ про  заборону шлюбів.  Священик Валентин порушив наказ римського імператора Клавдія ІІ, він бачив любов молодих людей і таємно їх вінчав. Непокірного священика Валентина викрили, і він був засуджений до смерті.

 

 

 

Legend 2.

          Another legend says, that Saint Valentine was a good friend of children. He was a Christian. He would not worship to the Roman gods. That’s why he was put into a prison. While he was there , the children that he had helped, missed him and brought him loving notes.

  Even in prison Valentine showed his love to everyone.

        A jailer had a young daughter who was blind. And Valentine made a miracle. He cured  the jailer’s daughter. Just before his death on the 14^th of February, he sent his lastl letter and signed as “ From your Valentine”. And this day was named the St.Valentine’s   Day”.

 

         Інша легенда каже, що святий Валентин був другом дітей. Він був християнином і не поклонявся римським богам. За це його посадили у в’язницю . У той час, коли Валентин перебував у в’язниці, діти, яким він допомагав, сумували за ним. Вони приносили йому свої послання, в яких висловлювали свою любов. І навіть у в’язниці  Валентин показав свою любов до кожного . У тюремного наглядача була молода дочка. Вона була сліпою. Валентин зробив диво. Він вилікував її від сліпоти, якраз  перед своєю смертю,14 лютого. Того дня Валентин надіслав їй прощального листа « Від Валентина». І цей день назвали Днем Святого Валентина.

 

Під органну музику з'являється Святий Валентин .

В1: I can't believe it. Is it St. Valentine himself?

B2: You are welcome, patron of lovers!

Св. Валентин: My children! I've come from the distant past, to remind you of kindness and love, friendship and patience in your cruel world.

    (Чути магічні звуки, на екрані з’являються серця)

На сцену на зустріч один одному йдуть юнак та дівчинка .

Юнак: читає вірш та дарує дівчинці троянду :

 

Here is a special valentine

With lots of love for you.

And since you are very special

Here are hugs and kisses, too! (дарує троянду)

 

Дівчина:

I want to say you, dear boy,

You are very handsome, very strong,

I wish you bring me only joy

And love forever me along.

.(дарує валентинку)

 

 

 

B1:The rose was the flower of Venus, the Roman goddess of love. Red is a color that stands for strong feelings, that is why the red rose is a flower of love.

B2:The rose is a symbol of secret, silence and love.

People use roses to make perfume, jelly, jam and candy

  В2: By the way a white rose means “ You are so wonderful”, a red rose says “I love you!”

B1: A pink rose “Please, believe me!”

B2:The symbols of St.Valentine’s Day are: cupid, roses, greeting cards, letters, hearts and chocolate. (показ символів)

B1: In different countries this day celebrate differently.

B2: In Italy people present each other only chocolate. And this day they name as “SWEET DAY”

B1: In Denmark people sent each other white dry flowers.

B2: We are very glad, that we also celebrate this holiday in our country!

B1: And now our little cupids read their greeting poems.

B2: I think it’s time  to sing about love, because love is the most beautiful feeling. It is so strong that it fills our hearts and thoughts. Meet our little cupids with a song “HEART” (співають учні 2 класу)

 

Інcценування легенди про Святого Валентина.

Святий Валентин: Oh! Love! To my mind… where there is love there is life. It’s true!

Юнак та дівчина падають на коліна та благають одружити їх.Священик виконує їх прохання .

Юнак: Oh Valentine, help us, please! We love each other and want to live in peace and love together.

Св. Валентин: My daughter! My son! I declare you husband and wife!

(Музика. З'являється вартовий )

Варта: Priest, you have been discovered and you  have to die . To prison! To the Tower! (Органна музика. З'являється тюремник з донькою)

Тюремник: Oh, St. Valentine, help us please! This is my daughter. She is blind. She will probably never see the lights, the trees.

Св. Валентин: I will help her by working a miracle.

Донька: Oh dad, my eyes can see! I am so happy! Thank you Valentine!

(До доньки повертається зір, музика.)

Св. Валентин: Unfortunately tomorrow on February 14 I will have to die. But I am not scared and I want to tell everybody on earth that I love you.

I am your Valentine.
